  5. It is the last weekend of the season Oct 10th and 11th. There is a 5 game minimum and a 7 game max. Two pool play games on Friday and the rest spaced over Saturday.
  6. Since it will be the inagural year, there is alot of tweaking going on, like the dates...but here is what I last heard, and best info. I can give.... For the last couple years there has been a lot of talk around the state about starting a single A volleyball tournament. Well we are finally getting it off the ground. It will be held at the Mid American Volleyball Academy in Louisville on Oct 1th, 11th and 12th. (may be diff't now) There will be two teams from each region in a three day, seven match tournament. There are already regional directors for each of the 16 regions. The format to get two representatives to state will be decided by the teams involved. Some are using head to head play, others are using a tournament, some have already established conference play and others are using a combination of systems. Alls that matters is that two teams will be recommended to play in the "state All-A tourny. If you use a regional tournament then it will cost you a tournament in your scheduling. If your team makes it to the state tourny then it will cost you another tournament. That is the way all the other single a events are run. I wish it could be different, but that how it goes. (KHSAA limit of 20 matches...3 of those 20 can be tournaments) The money made from the regional events will be handled by the regional participants. The cost of the state event is going to be covered by gate receipt and sponsors. The MAVA facility will not cost us anything. They are only going to take concessions. If the cost isn't covered by gate, and sponsors then the cost will be billed to all 32 teams. We currently have 2 sponsors and they should cover 1/3 the cost. Bring lots of fans. Even if we make no money at all the cost shouldn't be more then a standard 5 match tourny. Your regional Rep will have a lot of answers. There are already a lot of regions that plan on sending representatives to this event. If a region can't send two for some reason we will be sending our at large bids. I hope we don't have to do that though. This event has nothing to do with the KHSAA district, regional or state competition that goes on at the end of the season. This is just anouther tourny like any of the other three you go to during the year. It only allows a certian type of school. Just like the big tournaments do.
  7. All A means all Single A schools. Enrollment of around 500-599 kids or less.(somewhere in there)
  8. Correct...Some will opt out. Either they think they are too good and a waste of time or vice versa.
  9. The fella setting it up is using the All A basketball Regions as a guide...that is about all I know. So if they are eligible for the All A in girls basketball...they are eligible for All A in volleyball.
  10. Yes...big push for an All A volleyball tournament. It IS going to happen. Just a matter of WHO wants to play in it. It is going to cost some teams a tournament(maybe even 2 tournaments), so some teams may have to drop a tourney that they had done in the past. Trying to push for dates at the end of September or very early October. It is set up by regions...2 teams from each region would move on to the All A tournament, forming a 32 team tourney. That is where burning 2 tournaments may be an issue...you'd burn a tournament if you succeed and move on to the All A tourney, but you may also have to burn a tournament to have a Regional All A tourney to decide who the top 2 teams are from that Region. If you already play everybody in your region, you would not have to play a Regional tourney as you could use your regular season games as a seeding process. Hope that makes a little sense.
  11. B-wood has been playing around with their lineup ALL YEAR also. The Tigers are like 11-0 against the Indians since 2001. Above is all speculation....I saw both games too...B-wood stayed consistent and figured out how to finish the matches out as a team...No luck involved at all...DESIRE was more like it IMO. HC has, NO DOUBT, improved immensely as a team. That is what regular season is for...to get all the kinks out before post-season. HC coach has done just that! IMO they'll beat Boone in 3 games tomorrow night and give NDA a rough time on Thursday, but will lose in 2. Beechwood will have their hands full against St. Henry tonite, they must play the best vball of the year to knock off the Crusaders.

  15. You must play everyone in your conference(NKAC).....at least once. Holmes is in NDA's conference. You DO NOT , for some reason, have to play everyone in your district. After conference games are scheduled, NDA and most competitive teams try to schedule as many tough games as possible to prepare for the post-season. A team is allowed 20 matches maximum A tournament only counts as 1 match to your maximum. So, you could play 10 matches at a tournament, and it only counts 1 match against that 20 match total.
  16. INCREDIBLE...He sounds like he is playing 2 guitars sometimes. Jack White can flat out play.
  17. Thanks for posting CSHS! Great job Robin! Keep up the hard work! Another local and Robin's NKYVC club team mate was a part of the top 59... Gaby Gray, 5-10 OH/RS, Sycamore (Cincinnati Ohio) -- Touching 9-10, this high flyer led the Greater Miami Conference in kills in 2006. Coach John Spinney, the former FSU assistant, says Gray, the sister of Northwestern freshman Brittani Gray, is definitely Big 10 caliber.
  18. Get rid of Henry too!!! Too many CRUCIAL dropped passes and NO EFFORT! Henry stinks IMO!

  21. What a great season from the Crusaders!!!! Congrats to all the coaches and players! Stephanie Niemer is incredible...UC got an great player!
  22. UCLA was part of the "on and on" comment... Washington has been strong too! From the Beach Reporter.... "She is being recruited by every national volleyball power on the women's collegiate scene. She has not made a decision yet to what school she is going to attend, but has it narrowed down to five: Stanford, UCLA, Washington, Hawaii and Texas. She is planning visits to all five schools, and has already made trips to Texas and Hawaii."
  23. I think a couple of girls even played on the Junior National Team also. They are complete studs!
  24. They could beat alot of college teams. Alix Klineman is 6'5" and can pass too!! She is definitley the top recruit in the nation. She is actively being recruited by Stanford, Texas, Hawaii, and on and on! They have beat Assumption 2 times this year. Those are Assumption's only two losses this year.
