So what does everyone think???

I know it's Assumption's to lose but I'm just glad that the 13th Region has what would seem to be a much better draw in the first round than they've ever had. Hopefully my Rockcastle County Lady Rockets will get back for a 4th consecutive year and make a better showing than they have done in past years.

Looks like Notre Dame and Assumption in the finals. Regions 9 and 7 correct?

That would be my guess. When do St. Henry and NDA play? I think that will be a great match.

Russell out of region 16 could be a force. Only three losses on the season so far.

No offense, but I do not think they stand a chance against NDA or Assumption.

Russell will probably win their Region though!

Just because a team has a winning record doesn't mean they are going to be a great team. There are teams up here in NKY that have .500 or below .500 records because they play great talent all the time. I believe that all teams in KY play a 20 match preseason before going into post season. Nothing is seeded, and great teams get left out of the State Tourney. Records do not mean anything in KY volleyball.

After seeing Assumption play a couple of weeks ago and seeing how they fared in Las Vegas(only loss was to #1 team in Nation, Mira Costa), I'd say it will again be Assumption in 2007.

Are you saying Russell doesnt schedule great talent all the time give me a break. If you think Russell Sucks, if they win the region I believe you will find out different. Russell may not have the funds the private schools get to play in the big tourney but I can tell you that Russell has played some teams who are very good.

Maybe not better than assumption but I believe Russell or Rowan County (Only team to beat Russell) will make some noise in the state tourney. At least up until they meet assumption and I believe they will give them a run for their money. But who knows, anybody can be beat on any given day.

For you to say that is crazy. I bet you havnt even seen Russell play. Just as I said Anybody can be beat on any given day.

This Thursday September 28 at St. Henry, and I don't think St. Hanks has anywhere near the team that they had the last two years.....

No it is not...Have you seen Assumption or NDA play?

History says that an EKY school is gone early. The level of competition and the lack of strong feeder programs does not allow them to compete with the traditional powers who are simply deeper and at a different level.

Could Russell be the exception? Absolutely. However, if you had to bet, you'd bet against them faring well.

What's the closest any KY team has come to Assumption this year?

St. Henry went 25-18, 25-20, 25-15

If Ron Kordes's blook pressure means anything, he was pretty upset as St. Henry had leads in both the first and second game before Assumption pulled out victories. Ron demands quite a bit from his players, and seems to get it. They have an outside hitter (#14) to replace Whitney Roth (last years State Tournament MVP) that is similarly talented. I'd love to know her vertical jump.

Assumptions only loss was to the number one team in the country (Mira Costa, CA). They lost the first of three games to Sacred Heart, and lost 2 out of 5 to Muncie (IN).
