Male out gained Manual last week but lost 23-14. Manual had a kick off return for a TD on a pooch kick. But if you look at everyones comment to that Male should be left out they made some very good points. I liked what I saw in Male last week, I get the game films and there was a huge non call hold on the KO return, that play hurt the Dawgs.

Congrats to the team, it would have been sweet to see a state wide tourney. I commend the powers to be to at least have something for the kids.

Didn't Trinity have to go outside the county to find teams to play after asking other teams in the same county to play them, same as next year and the next....

I hate the touchback rule in High School, kick off goes into the endzone its out to the 20 yard line. Againt Trinity in the playoff game Doug Beaumont couldn't advance the ball one time, and I'd liked our chances with Doug. Pro/College gets this.

I just saw the full 6A bracket, and yep you win you could play a team you just played last a couple of weeks ago. I've been around soccer/softball tourneys for 40 years, and when they made out the brackets they would try and play teams who wouldn"t have played until you got near the semi finals or so. Oh well.

In anytime in sports when a playoff is envolved its fun playing teams outside your area, as a Male supporter if we get by Meade County we play St X if they also win. St X is in our District. Is there any other schools who play a team this soon in their same District?

Its hard posting when you lose, but I figured a Manual person would. team played very well (Male). Manual had a RB a Junior who scored three times, and one on a KO, (didn't I already post this somewhere?). We had better stats but also more turn overs. We had the ball three times in scoring position in the 1st Quarter and didn't score...De jau Veu? on writing this.

During the Male/Manual game Manual had a linbacker who kept making gestures to our student body as they were ahead. I had binoculars on him and and it was worse, nothing dirty just classless, so I'm pulling for Moore to beat them, and as they play forward too. But if I was betting on this one I'd pick the Manual. Didn't notice him until they were in a sure win.

Looks good to me, Male was down to Trinity at the end of the first quarter 7-0, they have been in every game in every loss except to X/Rocks, and this past week were missing their starting QB/RB.

I also wanted to mention Bvallard/Butler/Eastern/J-Towns teams. I started in the opening due the District teams we are in with, but these teams I mentioned here are also very good. Butler has a very hard running back and he has the best size of any of the teams I mentioned in both threads. Ballard has some key players too and a promising QB, they have a couple of kids who didn't play due to the varsity time, so you know they have some young talent. Eastern gave us a real stuggle, but we had more speed. All these teams had very good numbers and the coaches worked hard. I had a great time as I got to meet some folks and as I held Chains for the Male games (JVs) and talked to the kids. As a football guy I had a blast. I love the kids and football. I've seen the benefits of kids growing and myself seeing it from a different avenue. Also the Male coaches allowed me to chase the balls during practice and be there to help my son as he kicked, and I got to meet some very nice people.

On Monday Male defeated Manual (JV) in a close game at Male, both teams looked very good but Manual had a QB problem due to an injury. Last nite the Crimsons scored with a minute to go to defeat Male 35-32. This game went back & forth. The kicker for male who I know pretty well kicked off very well but missed his two attemps at PATs. One was wide right one hit the the left pole. He feels terrible as he has hit almost every kick this year. Manuals kicker was very good hit all five. Male/Manual St X Trinity have very good kickers and the next three years these kids will grow and improve. In fact all these games were close between each other, we beat St X and X beat Manual, X beat the Rocks and the Rocks beat us. Rocks did not play Manual but that would have been a very good game too. The future of these four schools look very good, there are some players and very nice kids. Rocks/Male/X & Manual all have really nice QBs. Male's kicker has to go thru the year in having his worst game as his last, on film he raised his head too soon and the other his hips did not turn as soon as they should. I'm sure I'll be out this week with him as he wants to work on some things. Its like putting a shot everything has to be just right and its so much mental. He did make a tackle on the opening play and cut his shinbone some, but he said that didn't have any effect on his thought process. Thanks to the Male coaches and the team mates for the relationships that have begun.

I think its important to see how you would feel if you are in the other shoe, no one who has any sense of fair play wants to be down 30+ points anytime and have the clock stopped by the team ahead and try to score again before the half, and have it happen back to back weeks at that, but also its our job to stop them which we did in the last weeks stoppage. Our team hasn't brought this up so we have moved on. Mama not pleased at all. As a personal record for the state lead, go for it, its several teams and its been a three year run. I see a difference.

The game is played on the field, both teams will play hard, Manual has the better record, but sometimes the better team loses, Go Dawgs!

Trintiy at Male this past friday, also m the QB/RB played into the third quarter, and their highly talented WR played even more. I was there and have the game tape. I figured their Coach wanted to get to the runnng clock as quick as possible. Ask Manual about last years game against Trinity when the same team scored late in the game and stopped the clock to do so. Their AD was so upset he came onto the field and now will not allow his JVs/Freshmen to play Trinity. The varsity has to. I post this after reading the Trinity's fans comments, great job JJ hope you break it and its the others team job to stop you. I never mentioned anything on the Trinity/Male thread because I wasn't upset about Trinity stopping the clock and trying a pass right before the half, but c'mon. JJ desreves no one to say anything negative.

Team is up 35-0, less than 2 seconds to go and they call time out to try and score and throw a pass which doesn't work, Sportsmanship is Poor.

My son the kicker forgot his pads one day at practice and just kicked with out them in shorts, "dad I realy liked not having those pads in and I wonder if I can do it in a game?" I said "yes, you can wear your shorts too".

Just saw the replay and slowed it down, his knee never touched as he held the ball to the plylon. Kid scored, but like Mama just said, "why worry abvout it?". I said, kid scored and didn't get credit. Not worried at all, just curious.

ALL TEll, I had my glasses on the freshman QB run and it was right in front of me, he had the ball on the plylon and hit it. The ref waited a second and then called him out at the one yard line. Male coaches were upset. What a thrill for the kid to score after a great run, there was a minute to go, but I saw a TD but I don't count. if he was out of bounds great call, but man it was so close and what would it hurt to give the Dawgs a TD? I do get to watch the game film and have it but watching college. I'll get back to you and let you know if the call was right or not. To answer your question, maybe Male wanted to score and thats what they tried to do. The QB also had a great run against the Rocks Freshman and we didn't score. That run was a lot longer and would have put us ahead 14-0, if the kicker would make the extra point. Great kid (QB) Two long runs and nothing to show for it.

#17 for us is a Senior, back up QB, first string did not dress as did Ronjae Morris. Male played hard but so did the Rocks. Rocks had two wide open recievers on two TDs, not sure how that can happened. Rocks deserve their ranking as #1 in the state, and top ten in the nation. The size difference of the two teams is amazing. RockMom was a treat to spend time with you, Mama hated you had to leave because she was alone with me. The kicker was nice to RM but wanted to tell her "we are gonna beat the Rocks before I leave". Lets do it again. :banana:
