I have watched a lot of football this year. Mostly 4A. Have saw Trinity, St X, Male, PRP, Dunbar, Mont Bell, Danville, LCA, Raceland, Lex Cath, Frankfort....and several others. I can tell you this....Mercer is FAST! Maybe the fastest I've seen....check that....THE FASTEST I have seen with the exception of maybe Male. They are deep. They basically 2 platoon. They play really good solid BASE defense. They dont have to stunt and blitz alot so you dont catch them out of position much. They have 4 running backs who could start on any team in the state. They play with a swagger. In my opinion..."THIS" Mercer team is a top 5 team in ANY class this year. Dont know about next year...but "THIS" team is just too talented and too deep to not be a contenter in any classification. I have not seen Russell play...but I think Mercer wins handily.

Funny thing I have to share...I was reading on another thread a OCath fan complaining about MC's numbers advantage. Saying it wasnt fair. I could not believe what I was reading...that from a Private School:jump:

I was at the game and saw the turnovers...You missed my point. The Rams only put up 20 points...all three of which game off those turnovers. The Raceland offense didnt do much. As I said earlier...my OPINION. By the way...LCA only fumbled twice....One was a strip not a hit. The other was a hit. Five were from interceptions...mostly on ill-advised throws from the Frosh QB, and the last on a blocked punt for a TD. Not taking anything away from the Rams D...but LCA didnt help themselves any.

Mercer 41 (miss a FG) Larue 13 (miss a FG) I think this will be a good game for 2 1/2 quarters. 21-13 or 27-13 heading into end of third or early 4th and then MC starts busting big plays.

I have seen both teams many times...this is my OPINION. After the Rams pulled out the victory last weak over LCA...A game in which LCA turned the ball over 8 times...by 7 points, I have to go with NCC. NCC 31 Rams 14 Good luck to both squads.

Dunbar BETTER win this one...Their is NEVER a reason for a school the calibar of PLD to go OFER!!!! NEVER!

Knute, you have seen both, correct?

I actually did see this coming...Rains as had Paris' number and seems to be able to put up a lot of points on them every year. EE I just talked with GB about this the other day and told him I thought this would happen.

If they go ofer makes you wonder.
