Wing-T vs. Spread
Most good wing-T teams do run a "spread offense". Out of the double wing set you can flat motion into trips. Most good teams utilize THEIR SYSTEM to whatever the defense is giving them. Any good offense should be versatile whether running a spread or wing t. "We don't rent pigs"

How many teams have won a state title running the Wing T?
As I said...anyone I've watched.

How many teams have won a state title running the Wing T?
Agreed...Manual, PRP, and LCA all run the wing T about as well as anyone I've watched. They all vary their formations but still stick with the system.

Also Centurion, no disrespect, but Btown Beth in NOT a base Wing-T team. They do sprinkle in a few wing t plays and formations here and there...but they are def not a wing t based offense.

Actually, LCA is very much wing-T. They run a variety of formations but their play calling is all base wing-t..trap, belly, down, down-option, buck, kick, waggle, etc. Wing t is not just formations but schemes as well...

Manual, PRP, Scott County, LCA, Pikeville (wing T discipline)...just a few off the top of my head.

NewCath 41 Lexington Christian 14
For what its worth...I felt that LCA did not come out ready to play. They were flat (probably because of beating Beechwood) and uninspired. By the time they woke up it was 27-0. The QB for NCC is THE REAL DEAL. He throws one of the best balls in the state. Another player not being mentioned on here is the DL for NCC #75. He is probably the biggest reason for the demise of the LCA running game. #76 did a great job inside and rushing the QB but it was #75 who really shut down the LCA offense. LCA could not down block him at all...He constantly blew up LCA's sweeps which is the bread and butter of LCA's offense. NCC defensensive game plan was superb and executed even better. Hats off to NCC and good luck WINING The STATE. "We don't rent pigs!"

Why Do Great East Kentucky Running Backs Fizzle?
Craig Yeast...he was a flanker in college but was a QB and RB in high school...I think he make a bit of an impact at a D1. Set a few records as I recall. "I'm bound for Ogalala."

LCA 43 Beechwood 20 (Game Discussion)
From what I understand they are going to start a Stadium drive after the season to raise money to build a new one for the next couple of years. "We don't rent pigs!"

LCA - NCC Predictions
From what I READ on here I think NCC is just to fast, talented, and seasoned for LCA...HOWEVER, I think LCA's team speed plays a major role in this game. I don't think you can ever compare the NCC/BW score as that is a rivalry game and scores and records go out the window. I lot of posters talk about NCC's speed and athleticism being the difference...but I think it is going to be the opposite of that. LCA has a tremendous amount of athletes and speed on the field. They get a lot of people to the ball on defense and don't give up a lot of big plays. On offense (even though Hayden is their stud) they spread the ball around a lot. With Kite finally coming back to full strength at FB this gives LCA another threat on offense that they haven't had until the Beechwood game. IMHO I think whichever team controls the ball by RUNNING it will win this game. LCA is obviously a running team and NCC runs the ball extremely well too...VERY close game! LCA pulls off the upset! 34-28 "We don't rent pigs!"

LCA 43 Beechwood 20 (Game Discussion)
Game Discussion: I think the big difference in the game was LCA's TEAM speed. LCA has a couple of kids that are really fast but their overall TEAM speed is really good. Because of this they are able to get a lot of people to the ball on defense and prevent big plays. Beechwood just couldn't get off a big play in the game to turn old mo' on their side. Another thing that was VERY suprising to me was LCA's ability to shut down BW's running game. BW pretty much abandoned the run midway through the second quarter...and once LCA got up 21-7 the change was really noticable...I NEVER would have dreamed the rushing stats in the game would have been what they were. "And besides the whiskey, I think we'll require a little respect!"

Beechwood Vs LCA
Yes it was...but what I was referring too was LCA jumped out early on South. I understand it was a scrimmage and all.... I am saying that LCA must come have a fast start in order to win the game.

Coaching Changes
Hopefully things will get back on track in '06. I know no one will work harder than Coach Mason.

Coaching Changes
Wasn't trying too...I agree Mason is a great guy...Was told that by someone else. I personally think it would be a mistake to get rid of Coach Mason.

Beechwood Vs LCA
It ALL depends on which LCA team shows up. The LCA team that blew away South Oldham 49-6 or the slow starter (like the last few weeks). If LCA comes out flat and doesn't start playing till midway through the second quarter the game will already be over. BUT, if LCA comes out hot then they are going to give Beechwood all they want. Game could go either way. The one factor in the game is Beechwoods experience (playoff).

Coaching Changes
I have heard that Nelson Co. was firing Mason...Does anyone know if this is true. "And besides the whiskey, I think we'll require a little respect."
