Also, when the Highland's student section was chanting "Where is Victor?". Vic took it in stride. I'm not saying it was mean shouting, it wasn't. It was rather harmless and humorous. And when Vic was interviewed, I think at 1/2 time, and asked how he felt about the chant, he replied he'd use it as a motivator.

Below is a post found on another message board. I enjoyed it so, I thought I would share it. Re: Vic Anderson...WOW! ------ I went to the St X game last night, and this kid is for real. Everytime he touches the ball, the crowd jumps to its feet. I've never really seen anything like that out of a HS kid. There's really no build-up to get to full speed... he gets hit, loses his stride, and is back at full speed in 2 steps. He was VERY impressive, far "out-athleticisizing" (if I may) every player on the field with a variety of spin moves, jukes, stiff arms, etc, and his speed is outstanding... Being a St X alum, I usually try to make it to the Trinity game plus one other one at Manual Stadium, but (now) I plan on going to every St X game that I'll be in town for this year. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say he's the next Reggie Bush (LexCath's defense was admittedly very weak), but he has a similar running style and that same ability to electrify the crowd every single time he touches the ball. If you get a chance to see him, you should take advantage of it and go. Finch (the "other RB") got a couple touches last night, and he looked great too, but I wouldn't say he's better than VA. Not a stretch to say he may be better than VA was at a similar stage, but man for man, he's not as good... yet.

Do you really think if X and T only dressed 65 players per game it would make a difference? They would dress the 65 players they need for that particular game (depending on the opponent). As it is now players 66-100 usually only play when the game is well in hand. Keeping stonger players in the whole game would likely run up their score even more.

Oh really? I know many 8th graders playing on freshman teams at public schools, which, by the way, is not happening at private schools. Ex. JCTMS 8th grader is paying for Male baseball. How is this fair, just asking?

Why is it always an "unlevel playing field" when a private school wins but a "nonissue" when a private school does not win? As it is said "You can't reason with the unreasonable or make sense out of the unsensible".

Get updated! 1st-Germantown Baseball is not Little League. They are Babe Ruth affiliated. Although, one of the original Little Leagues in Louisville Germantown Baseball broke ties with Little League in 1964 2nd-In 1999 the Archdiocese sold the land to St. X with the stipulation Germantown is allowed to use the park. St. X has, and will continue to honor that agreement. 3rd-The concession stands, etc. were paid for through Germantown fundraisers, not tax dollars (for one, they have a very successful annual picnic-FYI, May 20th this year). 4th-St. X offers parking to Germantown fans and participants including the couple hundred new parking spots now available, (paid for with St. X dollars not tax payers), which Germantown desperately needed. 5th-The new entrance is much safer, as there were accidents and side swipes through the old entrance. Also, St. X agreed to include Germantown on their roadside marquis and Germantown can errect their own sign on Poplar Level Rd., if they so desire. 6th-Although there was the loss of several old and beautiful trees in the renovation, much overgrown weeds, underbrush and vermin were also cleared out. IMO, I think the now, partial view from Poplar Level Rd. into the ballpark is very good looking and I hope they continue to clear out the rest of the overgrowth for a full view from Polplar Level Rd. 7th-St. X only uses Diamond 1 for freshman practices, with Germantown's O.K. The two organizations are good neighbors and working with each other to keep it that way.

Since the picture shows his helmut down 6 inches from the goal line, and considering how he is shown cradling the ball in post #1, and he only needed to get to the 1 yd line for 1st down, the answer is YES. As they say "Pictures are worth a 1000 words"; regardless of opinions.

I thought #4 Brian Hart had a great chanpionship game, he was breaking up St. X plays all night. In fact, the group I sat with (St. X side) thought he might have been the MVP, for that game anyway.

Shortly after the disappointing loss last Friday night Victor Anderson attached a note to the front of his football locker apologizing to his teamates for coming up short inches (on the 4th down of their last pocession). He said if someone was looking for him, he'd be in the weight room, (pushing himself) so not to be denied inches again. He told the guys he was sorry for letting them down. The note on his locker was replaced with the following: Win as a team, Lose as a team, Band of Brothers.

I'm not mistaken, for you could not have been as close to the incident as my source, and I'll trust my source thank you. I believe you must still be burned about the preseason "blue-cast" situation. Further, Vic is kind, respectful and grateful. He gives much time and effort to youth developement and is doing very well in school (lst honors). He has had to handle the pressures of a high profile player while nearly every move he makes seems to pop up on some thread somewhere. He has been curtious and humble when girls ask for the shirts off his back or even when a younger boy yells "Go Rocks!" as he is getting into a car. I have been a witness to both. He's not perfect, as none of us are, but he's an exciting football player who is much fun to watch on the field and a wonderfull kid who brings out the best in many and is a pleasure to know personally.

He was wrong. c. I have been to every X game and after every game he always goes to the enzone to be at the end of the team line for the shaking of hands. Usually he is at the end of lines entering the field and leaving the field. This is his habit and nothing new, only this time the team stayed at midfield to shake hands and the line did not form.

Well, I can agree with you on one point:"I personally think he was the best RB in the district." However, enough votes for 2nd team is a testament to his ability. NO. And in the Iroquois game, St. X was so dominant not many of the starters played more than 1/3 of the game. I'm sure many starters on most teams are pulled early on lopsided wins. BTW, Iroquois was Vic's first game back after his injury and he scored on his first run, once again highlighting his presence. His playing time may have been less than others, due to lopsided wins and his injury, but his performances and accomplishments were greater. Further, not all votes were based stricly on district play, some were based on the past two seasons, and you can verify that in your own backyard. So please don't continue to use his missing 2 games as a justification for ignoring his amazing abilities. Also, I appreciate your welcome to the real world, but I've been here for a while and, fortunately, I do not always find everything as shallow, hypocritcal and immature as I did this vote.

Please explain further. I counted 7 Trinity players on the 1st team with 15 total including honorable mentioned.

Vic missed only two games, Manual and PRP. Although votes for some players were rendered based on their performances for the past two seasons, this same consideration was not given to Vic. Having missed just 2 games should not have kept such a key player off that team. He played a huge role in every game he played and even in the Manual game he didn't play, as Coach Nichols said much of his practice the week prior to the St. X game was working to stop Vic. I refuse to believe if the all-district team was for real, and not just on paper, the coach would not pick him for the team.

better look again by my count Manaul had 17 individuals named(how did they finish 3rd) Male had 11 individual players of which 6 were at 2positions &1 at 3.St.X had 12 individuals. It just goes to show good coaching and teamwork make champions.

As I understood JH was hosting this tounament, it's not that they had won home field advantage, and I don't believe the PA announcer was a very gracious host.
