Do you feel more calls are being missed with a 3 man crew. The areas of the floor for positioning with a 3 man crew, offers less visual area for observation with 3. Sure calls will be missed with 2 or 3, especially along the baseline and wings, with players setting screens and cutting. The point of emphasis should be on instructing the area for observation, for each official. You can be the trail one play, then the lead the next but the viewing assignments, are different.

When tournaments are "sanctioned" using out of state teams, they must go to the KHSAA for approval. When teams from non-bordering states play, it must also go to the NFHS and each individual state for them to sanction, as well. Unless specifically indicated in the contract and stipulated, in the conditions, they can wear uniforms approved by their state association.

Key word, is "session". To bring top quality programs in, you must offer either compensation, lodging, food or a combination. $20 for watching 5 games, is very reasonable unless you watch 1 and then leave. Short of clearing the gym after each game, only way it can be done.

Schools can and have instituted a Rule, regarding quitting a team and not being eligible for another. The only KHSAA requirement, is leaving a team is minimum practice time for some sports and being academically, along with grade eligible.

Several teams that will contend. Bell County will be very good again, as will Middlesboro. Corbin, South Laurel and Clay County are solid. Winning the 13th, will come down to pitching and defense.

Never an easy decision in selecting level of play. My only recommendation is to choose the best academic institution possible. Make the decision for the future and not about getting drafted. There have been many comparable talents not get drafted and have to rely on education. Once a player reaches college and has draft potential, scouts will follow his progress. In college there is much more communication between MLB personnel and colleges.

The increase in number of teams will allow more teams to contend. I do not recall if Julian clarified if the 15 inning rule, would still apply. He did discuss the Monday & Tuesday pitching rules being the same but I did not hear discussion on the limit. I agree with others this is a financial decision for the KHSAA. Having to lodge more total teams and four will have to lodge 4-5 days. In the event of inclement weather additional days would be needed and increase costs, for some school systems.

Greenup County will hit well and score runs. The pitching will be there also but replacing Heineman will have to be a team effort. Does Raceland have the pitching depth to make a run in the 16th region.
