Just wondering your guy's opinion on the top teams in the 13th region this upcoming year in baseball.

Several teams that will contend. Bell County will be very good again, as will Middlesboro. Corbin, South Laurel and Clay County are solid. Winning the 13th, will come down to pitching and defense.

LOL, don't it always come down to pitching and defense...just joking. Seriously, Bell has to be the fav coming in, they only lost 1 player from last year. Switching coaches may become a big deal, but you never know how kids will react. Middlesboro legend, Billy Powell, is back at the helm there and I know they have a lot of talent back as well.

What's your opinion on Corbin's pitching this season? Who are the young pitchers?

This Region has a chance to play some of the better baseball in the state if things work out. Bell, Corbin, SLaurel, Clay and Billy all should be good.

Someone will step and be a surprise this year on the mound for Corbin. The likely top pitchers will be Josh Smith, Logan Matlock, Ben Jones and Coltin Hanson. A couple of talented freshman could also get in the mix in Trace Vorbeck and Travis Smith if some of the upperclassman falter.

Who are some of the better players in the region and how do you think Whitley County will play out in the mix?

 

Whitley has some talent, depends on how their pitching progresses. I believe they will be one of the top 5 or so in the region, but the 50th district may be hard to get out of with 4 of the top 8 or 9 teams in the region in it.

The best two pitchers and probably players overall this year will be Brett Pittman from Middlesboro and Spencer Greer from Bell Co.

Everyone always talks about the best pitchers and infielders. Who are some of the best outfielders in the region...Any really good speed or arms out there?

Any sophmore's or junior's that can help the hound's out on the mound this season?

The Martin kid at South Laurel will be just as good of a pitcher if not better than these two.

Yes, he is a really nice pitcher but I do not believe he is as good as Pittman or Greer. Also, does anyone know who the best catcher will be in the region this year?

There was an 8th grader for Williamsbug that I read about and watched who went 7-0 last year beating South, Corbin and Middlesboro.

What's your opinion on Corbin's pitching this season? Who are the young pitchers?

Josh Smith and Ben Jones will be top starters I look for freshman Trace Vorebeck to get in the rotaion early.
