Beat 2 good teams? KC can hardly fill a team. South looked dominate against who? B'ville
They also beat Middlesboro, and they didn't have to much trouble with them! The first true test will be today as Corbin takes on Bell Co. at Corbin if the weather holds off which i hope it does.:sssh:

I'm surprised that Whitley County has gotten little mention. They did really well against Clay Co. which, is probably one of the best teams in the region if not THE best. Whitley lost 3 to 1 with all of Clay's runs being unearned. However, this has been the only game the Colonels have gotten to play due to rain. How do you all see Whitley doing this year?

Buddy, I have no dog in this fight. I am not a fan of Middlesboro or Cumberland, I was just simply stating that it seems Middlesboro was just as good during that time. I still feel that way.

Like you, I have no preference either, but think M'boro was more consistent over the long run. Powell built a great program and is returning to get it back where it was before his "retirement". Understand he has a lot of young talent to work with. Don't get me wrong, Morris did great, but M'boro stretched their success into the late 90's and whatever you want to call the first few years of the 21st century, LOL!!!!

I think Martin at SL is the best in the region also.

Is Pittman even healthy? I always thought their lefty was harder to hit anyway.

Yes Pittman is healthy, why would you even ask that? Last year in the district Pittman had 15ks against decent Cumberland team to advance to the region, Then he pitched against South Laurel without much rest. He had perfect game going into 4th inning and then was pulled in the 6th inning with 9Ks with a 4-2 lead, Then Pratt was put in to close the game. I guess you know the rest of the story! I question your knowledge of baseball especially pitching. I've always had respect for South Laurel. We have had some great games and for you to make a comment like that is very disrespectful to Pittman since it is his last year.

The reason I ask that is because I KNOW he had arm problems last year. His elbow was obviously hurting everytime he pitched and I think that took away from his control a little bit. The thing about Pittman in the past is that he is always trying to over throw. When he settles down and focuses on just throwing strikes and not striking everybody out, he will be a great pitcher. Lucky for you, I heard today from a Middlesboro parent I work with that Pittman pitched down in Florida last night against some St. Augustine team and he pitched great. He said he a had a no hitter through 4 2/3. If this is the case, I'm happy for the kid. He has always been a solid pitcher.

That being said, we will see how he pitches against SL and Bell and we can use that as the measuring stick.

The question/debate wasn't about the "long run." It was about the period that Cumberland dominated the region. The records don't lie.
