Devilman

2004 District Tournament matchup between Augusta and Deming, everyone had us beaten by 18 or so, but Coach Massey and the boys pulled one out during that time. Also had some memories aganst Bracken Co. Plus the upset over Brossart in Class A tournament at Nicholas County.

Agreed I remeber those days between these 2 teams, also the games against the Maysville Bulldogs. Great Rivalries back in the day.

Was Coach Starns at Mason County during Kelly Wells tenure there?

No cousin. Rex was his brother.

Congradulations go out to Daulton Schalch of Deming, Class A Qualifyer in Golf.:banana:

This years squad at Deming is in rebuilding mode. There are some talented players, Dawson Cooper struggled last year but has worked during the summer to get his game back. Darrin Edwards now has played the middle and has show in the game against Paris can shoot the 3 ball well. Dalton Schalch has been rumored to just concentrate on golf and may not be back which would be a huge loss of our offense. Tyler Burns would be looked upon to be the point guard.

Seems like last season nobody gave Deming a chance to get past the 38th District Tournament and lo and behold they won the 38th District Championship. However this seaon is going to be different then last, not for sure who is returning this season. Heard alot of speculations and rumors but I tend to wait to see what happens. In my view or at least I think will happen is Lacy Mitchell, and the Smithers girl, who came on strong in the district tournamnet, should be back. After that it's up in the air.

According to the website the first competed in 2005.

6 or 7 years now. According to the Khsaa website.

Lady Devils won their first game of the season. Marrisa Jolley had 5 aces.(A little shameless bragging cause she is my niece). 17-25, 25-12, 25 20, 25 18.

I agree she's had success but lately some parents felt she is favoring one player over another, mind you this is what I observed at a jr. high games, I kinda see what they're complaing about, but I quess if you wasn't there you may have to see it yourself. One thing I did see was she didn't take a player that missed 6 straight volls that could've been points and took out someone that has been solid, didn't think that was right.

Alot of people is wanting Volleyball Coach Ann Grause to step down at Deming. Why? Personality conflicts? Just don't like her? Who knows?

dd734 is pretty much on the money with his list.

I remeber Coach Reitz at Deming(telling my age) he and assistant Coach Jerry Fultz were our Physical Education teachers.

I had just heard this on WFTM Radio, Coach Rietz is certainly a class act, and has been one of the 10th Regions best Coaches.

I met Coach simms in M.O(Deming) in a game of the 10th Region Coaches took on the Harlem (Globtrotters) Clowns, He can still stoke it.

Agree. Me and Jason played Bball with each other at Germantown Park, before my softball games started. It's been awhile though I jokingly accused him of werein' my knees out from me chasin' him on the court.

Where are you coming from? If you come to MT.Olivet from MAysville on US 62 turn right at the bank go out past the nursing home turn right on Central Ridge you can see the park from there. It's a mile form M.O,

You beat me to it Mustang. Talked to Coach Burns he felt like the players on the field weren't playing hard and he benched the Seniors and emptied his bench, just because they weren't playing as well as they could.

Remebered watching him play at Augusta had a good career there.

Black Devils are 2-0 so far in the Class A beating Siver Grove 19-3, then Augusta 12-0. Play Nicholas County Saturday.

The Black Devils have some talent, to get them to play as a team is were they need to improve, Dawson Cooper had some nice games but struggled, Dalton Schalch had several games(in Bracken County Tournament he had 5 3's in a row), he's dead on from the field. Darrin Edwards has a nice shot from behind the arc as well on the inside, Justin Pilosky not the same player as his brother but got some starting time on the floor. Tyler Burns should be on the floor next year, played with some surgical clamps while playing last season(hernia).

Piosky when he gets hot there's not a better player, couiple seasons back Pilosky and Schalch on the jv team at Augusta came off the bench and lifted the team to a win, they scored 15 and 16 points in that game on jv. New they were gonna be something.

I remeber Schalch blocked a dunk attempt by Paris' Jennings, he can sky, most the season when he doesn't do well was due to an injury to his left upper thigh he suffered at St.Pat. but he played thru it. had some good games his Jr. anf Sr. year.

She has had 3 injuries with her ACL. I mean she will see time on the court as a Starter or off the bench.
