Marion will be much improved this year. I think Bethlehem will take their lumps on this one, but still be okay for class A play. Marion is on the rise

I looked and looked, and as good as Pikeville is for a 1A school, HC is too much, and on paper, the game that looks like the biggest potential for a blowout.

I saw them during the summer passing leagues. They looked much improved. I don't think the Camels or the Rock is the answer, but there will be one.

A shame for the Mtn. Lions. They looked to be heading in the right direction. Wether it is admin. or coach at fault, it is a shame what they are doing to these boys. Where do you go from here, and how do you get the kids to believe that anything will ever change?

The sad part is the kid who works his tail off (and in BL's case, all the ones before him) who believe the new coach (sometimes his 3rd or so coach) tell them that now it's gonna change. I'm gonna be here, and we are going to get things done. How does this kid ever believe in himself, or others, after some of the krud that has happened to him? The power of football (and all sports in general) is that is teaches these young men and women valuable lessons about life. Unfortunately, it also introduces them to situations such as these, where you work hard, put your faith in a team, coach, system, and promptly have it blown to bits, and there's not a dang thing they can do about it. Hopefully, the next hire will be the right one, the administration will prove everybody wrong, and these young men will turn into winners, and believe in themselves. Good Luck BL. Don't give up!

Worst post I've seen on BGP in a long time! For many reasons: 1. What would you think if you had a record of about 18-2 over the last twenty years against a team (including one your opponent had to win by waiting until they were soundly beaten, then reporting an issue known only to the player involved), then were told, with no explination why, the other coach had no interest in playing you. 2. Watered field, landmines, snow, acts of God! We all play on the same field. M'boro's supposed speed advantage should have shown up in games they played at home (I don't think Hunk does the field there also). Regardless, good teams get it done, regardless of the setbacks. 3. The fact that the vast majority of people on BGP and those I have talked to abhor this decision. Nobody is for it (except apparently a few diehard Roark fans). 4. What could possibly be the rationale for not playing if it's not fear of losing? Is the program making too much money?

I don't think that there is any doubt the chain guy knew. However, you have a 22 year coach doing something like that in a crucial situation. You may be just a guy wanting to be a part of the program. You are probably young and may be intimidated somewhat by him and worry of repercussions if you say anything. I could see why he kept his mouth shut. Doesn't make it right, but there's no way he couldn't know.

No and Butkus shows it. I don't think that he has been a good coach at all. The whole "I came here and worked this hard and you give me this"? Not a good motivating method, guilt. I don't see them getting much better unless he focuses more on fundamentals, and less on pissing and moaning about their inabilities (isn't that what a coach is for?) IMHO of course.

It sounds like God has already heard some prayers, according to the updates. A telephone pole at 80 is usually a fatal error. My prayers for more good news and full recovery for these young men.
