  1. IMO He and many others are just trying to right an unfair advantage that many private school use, if they don't recruit, they should, if others do and get away with it. Call it what you wish but all the football champs could be priviate schools this year.
  2. What about Johnny Hammons and Mills were they ranked pretty high when they were freshman?
  3. Josh's dad is about 6'0 maybe 6'1.
  4. Hate for Josh Crawford, you sir are very wrong, I played in high school with his uncle (a great guy) I rember when his mother was a cheerleader for Lynn Camp. Josh has more class than any ten freshman in high school, I love watching both local high school teams, But IMO A 6'4 forward does not write his own scolarship when he is a freshman, unless his name is Lebron or OJ. Why all the hate for Dixon and Noble, who made you the expert on football toughness anyway? Both Dixon an Noble seemed tough enough and would have been good football players if they had chose to play.
  5. WOW! Not tough enough I don't rember Dixon ever playing football at any level, how do you gauge this statement? Seems like he must have been fairly tough to go through all those knee and foot problems and still try to play basketball, as far as that goes who knows if any of these other tough guys (Mills, Noble, Parks, Crawford , etc.) were tough enough to play football. Mastermind Imo this was a low blow statement, were you tough enough to play football or any sport for that matter? Most of your posts make sense to me not this one.
  6. Great season for the Tigers, I wonder how Lynn Camp would have faired in a rematch with Somerset. To bad they waited until the second half to show they could play with Paintsville. Imo Lynn Camp was the the best team of these three, but couldn.t get it done. I hope the Jumpers go all the way and Ross Deaton is the MVP of the championship game.
  7. I don't rember the date but about 1997 or so I went to Hazard to watch the bulldogs and Lynn Camp play a playoff game. It was about 25 the field was covered in about 10 inches of muddy mess, man I'm still cold from that night.
  8. Jimmy Chaffin Lynn Camp ----- offense, defense, special teams -----a playmaker from phases of the game.
  9. I don't know Coach Stewart, but IMO Tuck Woolum would have to be the best QB from Pineville, From the success Coach Black has had at W'burg he would be a great candiate but he may still be to close to the present staff. Winning in elementary is a long long long way from beating high school teams in 4A football. I also feel the Corbin Times ran this story way to soon, sure the players will back their old coach. Coach Campbell has been the best coach of any sport at Whitley Co. in the history of the school, his 18 year record speaks for itself. He should have been able to go out under better conditions.
  10. I had never thought about Mills playing football but looking back it may have been his best sport, When Parks was talked about being a wide out, what if he had been a defensive end crashing the qb like the guy for Lousville, WOW! What about Josh Crawford didn't he play qb in the 7th grade, for his body size football may be have been his best sport also.
  11. Great point, I would love to win a state title in anything even if there were only 2, 3 , or 4 teams involved much less 35 seems like a good plan to me.
  12. If this is the same Will Stweart listed on the top 20 backs of the last 20 years thread I guess LC would have missed a player of this ability,I didn't know LC had a player by this name now at Corbin. I guess the road runs both ways.
  13. Will our QB stay here? I hope so he can be awsome the next two years!
  14. IMO Over the last 60 years Corbin has had a program a good as any in the state, but I don't think they would have started out 0 and 5 if most of the players you talked about were there. The only thing that helped right our ship was the weak district we play in. Add to those that left, the athletes at Corbin that don't play football only basketball or baseball add all these up WOW! great numbers, more good bodies, much better team.
  15. IMO We really don't have to look very far to see the debate between public and private school sports. First Lex. Cat. and now Lex. Christian both at first were not on the football radar 10 years or so ago, now both have a shot at state titles, If you can get the playmakers and numbers you can win many games. It's not just football but all the sports, boys and girls. Don't know the answer but private schools will dominate the future.
  16. Who is Will Stewart? This thread is about the best rb in Ky the last 20 years, has this fellow even been in the backfield for the redhounds?
  17. This game could go either way, top notch coaches, programs, players, fans, tradition, and more its all here in this game. I have to go with the home team tonight. BELL CO. , I've been around long enough to rember when both programs were not good at all When Larkey and Hilton came along things sure did change!!!!!! Iwould love to see Rockcastle win a state title before Larkey retires from football, but it will not be this year.
  18. Now thats a game I would watch (Rock vs Bell) wymt is great in showing these games. Overtime being on site will be great, IMO their sports coverage area is far to wide, I live in southeastern Ky. I've never been to either Belfery or S. Clark sounds like this will be a very good game, but I would much rather see Rock vs Bell because I have seen these coaches and players. But, HATS OFF! TO WYMT all teams enjoy the coverage they do get. :ylsuper:
  19. NONFACTOR!!!!! you have got to be kidding! there was never a game Quention Henson was not some kind of factor, from his freshman year on, he played with several good backs his four years, Joe Melton, Nick Jackson, Jeff Johnson, Will Hollin, Shane Strunk, Nick Valentine, and others, sounds like he must have ran over you and you still feel it, Sjnce when is 1013 yards in a season not good stats? :fight: :fight: He had the body and ability to play at a D1 school maybe not the attitude.
  20. Q. Henson IMO one of the best running backs to play in the state of Ky. ever. He more than anyone brought Lynn Camp football to the level they enjoy today. Why was he not on the all-star team? IMO two reasons 1. most all-star coaches use their buddies as assistants, and if push comes to shove their buddies players on the team if they can at all. 2. Quention's over the top, out of control attitude at times, turned off the Lex. Cat. coach, he was in charge of the team that year, there was no better player at his position that year in the state. Q. could be playing on Sunday these days if his attitude had been better, wonder where he is now?
  21. I feel the team that can just slow down the other will win, a long trip for LC, fatigue may be a factor. No surprise for many JC Keth did not play and was in the stands, someone told me he told them he was hurt, seems to me if that was the case he would have been on the sidelines with his team, I don't think him being out will slow down LC at all just a big body lost.
