Fear 'Les' 13th Regional Ratings
ZapTwang replied to Les's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I agree who ever made this schedule for North must have known they would not be around to take part in it, very difficult to say the least. Yes Pineville has improved alot from years past. -
Pineville 52 Jackson County 50, 13th All "A"
ZapTwang replied to The Professor's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Maybe not Jackson Co. is playing much better and the Brumback is a force inside if allowed to play really physical, sounds like he was allowed to last night(the whole team was allowed to vs Lynn Camp) Should be a great game tonignt for the 500 or so fans who can get in and watch, game should be played at a larger site. -
Best Radio Announcers In The State

Dave King of 107.3 does a good job for the Corbin Redhounds, enjoy his call of games. -
No I haven't seen the paper but I will find one. I also hope they can make the regional but beating Pineville at their own place will be a tough chore. Knowing the family it was a diffcult time for them when Cody was not able to play in the state tournment, but the district and regional as well.

13th Region All-A Semifinal predictions
ZapTwang replied to 4chs's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I heard this but dont know if its correct: but is Coach Phipps the All A director for the 13th region? If so does he have a hand picking the officals that call the games or does someone else choose them? Coach Phipps would never suggest the officals did him wrong would he? -
13th Region All-A Semifinal predictions

Don't over look Jackson Co. I don't think they have ever lost an All A game seems like they won the thing the only other time they were in it a few years ago. This tournment should be B'ville's they are playing good and Coach Phipps has always known how to get his team and the officals ready for a big game. -
I like the way Pineville stays under control and nothing seems to faze them being ahead or behind they tend to business. I thought P'ville would win but the score is hard to figure. From were their program has risen from it would be cool if they made it to Richmond this year! Coach Strange is a fine coach and doing a great job.

By far the worst game of the year for LC, in their other losses a bad peroid hurt them, but tonight the cats looked to be out of the game IMO from the start, and it only got worse. Give Jackson credit they have alot of guys who play very very hard and carry out their game plan. They shut down the inside and let the guards try to beat them. LC really needs to regroup or another season with promise will soon be gone. I agree it is hard to beat a team three times but this is no excuse for the cats, they have some talent, and are not using it.

Jackson Co at Lynn Camp Predictions
ZapTwang replied to LC99's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If the Cats play together, pass to the open man, get back on defense, use their inside game and outside quickness they should win tonight. But these things don't always happen this will be a tough game as were the other two. Hope I'm wrong but Jackson Co. may come away with the win. -

Corbin vs. South Laurel (Round 2)
ZapTwang replied to WILDMAN's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Let me see South stayed in the game and had a chance to beat the number 2 team in the NATION on Sat. A team with OJ Mayo and others, hope I'm wrong but Josh Crawford (a really good player for any level of high school) but a GREAT freshman, will have their hands full Tuesday with South who problely still rember the last time they were at Corbin, should be a full house and rocking from both sides. -
The only thing keeping Jordan Hammonds off the top five is the fact you already have two players from South. IMO he is better than S. Allen from North and Jones from Clay.
-
IMO if Cox and Johnson are looking in then Good from B'ville and Dixon from Lynn Camp are at least peeking in.
-
My point in this was a 7th that could start for Rodney Woods must be a really good player or Wayne Co. is really starting over.
-
Coach Dixon has helped the cats this year not maybe, sometimes a new or different view of things in basketball can be a positive thing. South (always good) has really improved alot since Coach Denny has been there, Corbin had a hard time getting out of the district until Coach West came there, both teams ended up in Rupp last year. Those guys were a big part of Cards and Hounds getting there. Just because a coach has been around awhile don't mean he can't be of some use to the younger guys.
-
If the Hounds started their usual lineup does it not include 3 seniors, 1 junior, and one of the best freshman in the state? Not to Young IMO. LC will have a super tough time at Wayne Co when they play, No game is easy for them most of the time they are playing againest themselves and what they are suppose to do as well as playing the other team. Hope I am wrong but it would suprise me if the cats win at Wayne.

Red headed shooting accuracy I get your drift most will not and you know what you really have some problem you need to get over. Mastermind you never cease to amaze me with some of your posts about Williamsburg and Lynn Camp two bottom feeders in the basketball food chain.
-
Imo Mastermind you need to stick to bad mouthing Williamsburg you seem to know much more about them than a Redhound fan should. I've not seen any magic at all out of LC this year 10 and 5 is ok but not magic. If the CLYDEsdales you refer to is Coach Dixon helping then why would he not be a help to LC? I learned alot from him and consisder him a good coach. LC99 and Les always are straight shooters. These guys just tell it like they see it fairly . I have never seen Coach Dixon mentioned good or bad before why now?
-
So by rule players can be unsafe for 5 minutes but real safe for the last 15 min. of warmups that never made sense to me.
-
Heard part of this game on the radio, Wayne Co. must be a unreal young team, how good was the 7th grader that started? Wayne will be a super tough team to play in a couple of year I would guess.

South Laurel 81 Lafayette 68
ZapTwang replied to JayRaySL's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Hammonds must have stepped up his level of play as of late, Proffitt and Allen get alot of press (rightfully so) but Jordan has grown alot physically and game wise this season, good luck cards vs OJ and the circus that follows him. -
Best guard in the 13th region??
ZapTwang replied to ukbellco14's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If he is so clutch why has his team only won a handful of games? -
Best guard in the 13th region??
ZapTwang replied to ukbellco14's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You cant play that way in the Optimist League only the NBA and Men's Rec. League games lol, Miller is very good at what he does but Profitt is much better at playing basketball team wise the way it should be. Granted he has a lot more talent around him and a coaching staff that demands this type play. -
Could this happen if they lose four in a row? Tough game tonight, much more than tough in Frankfort. Corbin at Corbin next may not be a push over either they are playing better. Imo South is heads and tails above all others in this region and should stay that way this year.
