Well, if all and any of this is true then I say congratulations to those who released information before the school officially did. The issue I see with doing this is the same as others have said. It’s not fair to the school he is leaving behind and more importantly the kids if they all get confirmation from anyone other than the coach himself. Heck, this guy might renege on the deal because he can’t trust the people hiring him now. If you are a parent of a Highlands kid on here and that wound be the case then I would say thanks Mom or Dad...

What the heck. I go outside and clean my gutters, come inside and balance my check book and then look on the computer and wham!!! all of this. Today is Saturday right?

What is changing? We have to hire a coach first. Iam confused by some of the other posts. Did Highlands make an official announcement last night that I didn’t hear? I just feel like whoever the new coach is will be announced soon, but for the record it hasn’t been.

Thinking the same thing. If Highlands hires “the guy” people will try and call foul, if they make a sound but not the preferred hire and it’s the same ole same ole then all will be good with the onlookers as that coach might not be a threat. When I say threat, I am talking about Highlands back on top. The Highlands supporters obviously want that but there are many others on here and across the state that want to see Highlands fail again. For these reasons, I can see why nobody is revealing information in fear of someone screaming foul. Sorta like when a PGA golfer commits a non intentional or innocent penalty on tv and someone calls in and reports it even though nobody saw anything on the course but all of a sudden technology comes into play and it’s a game changer. Probably some of that going on now imo.

With a new head coach, will Highlands go for a new identity look as well. I say yes but of course Pete Rose struck out once so I could be wrong. Blue helmets with white H. With a new hire, it’s time for a new brand as well. Just make sure you keep it Blue and White (school colors) and no black or red.

For crying out loud, would someone just announce it already...

Ok so go back and this time, Very slowly read my post again. Don’t play me against the kids and portray me as someone who doesn’t support the program. I have from day one supported the kids and questioned the adults. I have nothing to “walk back”.

Spot on, let’s keep things in perspective. This is a 20 yr hire and the kids and for that matter the administration will either be graduated or have moved on in 1 to 5 yrs. The student participation thingy is setting an interesting precedence for years to come. Next kid that gets a bad grade in English will be looking to have that teacher replaced with a teacher that will give them an “A”. And for what it is worth, I don’t blame the kids, I blame the adults for allowing this to take place. Take a deep breath everyone, this is a monumental hire and I have a very good feeling that “the powers to be” will make a decision everyone will be just fine with.

Hence the reason why it should be a complete surprise for the kids when the school announces the hire. I would most probably go with “really likes”for a football coach. JMO
