Cincy St X was #1 in nation heading into Ft Thomas that year. They just had their way in Louisville and headed to DCM for the Ky trifecta and got sucker punched ending their National title bid.

Highlands 2009 campaign was ugly for many. They would have won any classification State final that year without argument.

Awesome, glad they both will be in the school walking the hallways encouraging the best and all athletes in the school to play football.

For me, all of the above mentioned is most probably very close to a 100% true analogy. However, what is so beautiful about a new coach and a new coach that doesn’t know the Jimmy’s from the Joe’s or the legacy names etc, etc, is the fact that “he” and “he” alone will make the calls that will give the program the best shot at winning and winning big again. A very good coach that is experienced as Bob is will immediately see the talent and athletes and evaluate where they have been or are going and will get the best out of a kid even if it means having a kid move to a new position. I hope as parents that everyone is telling their kids to do whatever is best for the team and that there could be a very good chance that a young man maybe asked to change positions. There will have to be sacrifices and some maybe much bigger and more noticeable than others.

Move on folks, nobody cares about what happened in the past other than we need a coach that can build on top of the building that was built before them and I believe the administration as others have said hit a “grand slam” Lets start supporting Coach Sphire, the young men and the program more than ever before. Highlands football will be great again!

He was mentioned but we were laughed at for even suggesting he would or could be hired at Highlands. What do I know...

What does this mean?

Unlike the last go round, I’ll bet he already had his staff in place before he even accepted the Highlands’s job, just my opinion.

Iam going to go ahead and say this now, only because I knew this was a highly sought after job despite the Highlands’s haters. Highlands is a Nationally recognized program, period end of sentence, they have earned the respect and they deserve respect. They have a lot of hard work to do to get back on top but the program has been there done that so a hire like Sphire is an opportunity to succeed not necessarily for Sphire but for the program. What’s even more interesting is the potential draw and the possibility of his staff.

Thx Coach for the reassurance on our hire, some just will never understand but hey...

Congrats to Highlands and Coach Sphire. The side distraction worked well, Matt Bertasso put a clinic on and deserves a big thank you and apology from many including myself. Beat Colonels!

I’m in Southwest Tx right now on a hunting trip. Going to take care of business in the field and maybe I look around for a Football coach for the field. Seems as if the pay is in line.

So 1300+ replies and 108,000 views speak volumes. People really do care even if it’s only really 26 pages. But yet the question of HC pay salary is in question. Cmon people.

I didn’t say that, but for me it would be irrelevant.

Why does a pilot of a plane get paid more than a plane mechanic? Why does a salesman get paid a salary plus gets paid a commission vs the person who makes or prepares the sold product that only gets paid minimum wage? It has something to do with branding and something called revenue generation.

Patience folks, no need to panic. I know this is easy for me to say because I don’t have sons playing any longer but I am willing to put trust in the process and not panic or rush a decision at this point in time. Let’s work together as alumn, parents and supporters and not question but rather trust those making these decisions to make this program great again.

Fact, TFVH is saying is a parent 3 yrs ago interfered with a firing process that quite arguably is a very large part as to why Highlands is in the shape they are in at the moment. Fact, now the same parent is complaining again to the Superintendent causing chaos amongst many claiming that Highlands administration is... Btw, for those concerned, it doesn’t take money to work out on your own. Never has and never will so whoever is complaining about kids working out privately claims “isn’t fair” is an insult to all athletes across this country. And for anybody that thinks they are bigger than this program and they don’t like the pace of the hiring process then feel free to move on. The program will survive with or without you. Heck, I even welcome them to give me a call and we can have a Highlands Football history lesson conversation.
