The issue with throwing names out is the fact that if Highlands hires anyone other than the names I could share then it could be argued that these names never ever existed or applied.

Not sure I follow this. What does ties have anything to do with 2021? The ties you are referring to happened 30 yrs ago. Highlands has won 10 State Championships since then and have had 4 principals and as many superintendents. This sir, is a Wow moment considering the last 7 years. At least for the Highlands contingency.

Regardless of who it is and despite what some on here saying , this is going to a huge hire for both Highlands and the coach. Most on here know my over the top allegiance to Highlands for obvious reasons but let me be very clear. I don’t know who it is going to be neither does anyone else at this point in time but whoever it is it will be the coach’s greatest opportunity to date, I know the administration will give the kids the very best coach available and the opportunity they deserve as well.

Iam hearing what everyone is hearing, nothing but speculation. I do believe it could be a guy that people will say WOW!!!

In all fairness I believe we are still days away from an official announcement. Plus today isn’t a Monday or a Tuesday, 😂

Coach Behymer just wears his Highlands heart on his sleeve and I liked that. I wish him the best at Newport High, he will do very well.

Gotcha. With regard to someone being just like Mueller, nobody could predict what the person taking over was going to do but I do find it extremely odd that a person would try and fix something that wasn’t broke. It could have gone entirely different imo. Really not interested in continuing a debate about the past coaching staff in this thread. Iam looking forward to a fresh start and opportunity for the kids and the program.

I think it’s awesome and it would be admirable for both to apply as they both have worked extremely hard in their careers and deserve the opportunity to apply. I really don’t know either coach that well, I know Lickert probably more between the two. I do know that they both grew up in Ft Thomas and played at Highlands, both were very big parts of their teams winning at Highlands and have strong family ties to the community. I believe they both fully understand the pressures of being that guy. I believe their time at Highlands helped them wherever they have coached in the past and if hired they would do their very best. Iam glad I have no influence or information as to who has applied and who is being considered and who will even get an interview. Has Lickert and Barth even applied? Apparently they have, but have they?

I would have to say Shaun Alexander is the greatest of all time to earn the title of Mr Football in Ky. I know we aren’t talking about this category but my gosh, Alabama great and NFL great to boot. Who else am I missing? Mayer could be the next Nky great to star at a top 5 college program and move on to an NFL career. I just find it so mind boggling to comprehend how hard it is to excel at both the Big college programs and then the NFL.

Sorry, but I am not following your response. You are giving me way too much credit on being smart enough to read between the lines. Iam not real sure where or why you are going with all this but allow me to be crystal clear, Sweeperboy never used Lickert name or Barth name or referenced either anywhere in this thread or discussion so help me understand what you are trying to suggest or say.

Nah, I believe because the former coach was so unwilling to continue down the path that Dale left him was the ultimate undoing. Dale set the tone and paved it to success. He found the chemistry to get the entire Ft Thomas family on board. The former coach chose to believe he could do things his way and didn’t want to follow in Dale’s foot steps therefore doing things differently in spite. His inability to fix something that wasn’t broke and that was taught for 20 yrs to do it one way was now choosing its own identity and the program steadily declined over just 3 yrs and eventually collapsed without the support he needed. It will take more than 3 yrs to fix the damage and even if this GW person had anything to do with it, there are supporters of the program that could have stepped in and assisted and squashed your conspiracy theory but probably didn’t. It could be because by that time everyone knew that even though BW was a great person and great assistant coach that he just wasn’t a good head coach or a leader of Highlands Football. There is such a push to get the program back on the right track that it may get very intense from within the District in the coming years.

JOAT would be more than qualified to be on the interview committee. He would represent a very large contingency with a clear understanding of what this job entails.

Is that going to be a Monday or Tuesday?
