  1. Asking a fair question and probably don't really want to hear the answer. Has Elder ever lost 3 games in a row?
  2. Agree with the disturbing theatrics, the hand to body gestures is concerning for someone of his age especially directing them to an 16 yo. There probably is a very good reason he was standing in the Highlands crowd and not with his own fans. I know a lot of CovCath alumni and have tremendous respect for their program and like wise and they would probably have run the guy out of the place out of embarrassment for their program.
  3. I disagree, Highlands and NewCath were huge rivals back when winning or losing meant moving on in the playoffs. Now that they are in different classes it's irrelevant despite the fact that we are less than a mile from one another. Believe me because I personally know that Highlands and NewCath fought over Ft Thomas Catholic families and still do even to this day and it appears this is the same thing BW and CovCath are doing. If every Ft Thomas Catholic went to NewCath they would be right there with the Trinity's and St Xavier. The difference has always been paying tuition for a private Catholic education vs. being a Catholic in a public school with no tuition. I suspect this exact same thing is happening in Park Hills. You maybe right in saying a young Highlands person wouldn't understand but why continue to torture yourself by playing your neighbor and being ticked off because BW might have multiple Catholic families whom believes should be at CovCath helping you be the top dog instead of second guessing what could have be. Regardless, being a public Highlands Catholic, I know as long as CovCath is in the way of Highlands and a state championship then it becomes personal and remains a huge rivalry on our end. Glad to hear though that Highlands is no longer a threat. If anyone in Park Hills is saying CovCath lost tonight because they don't care anymore and that this game is meaningless to them is just plain silly imo. Why waste your time. It might be more healthy for CovCath to just move on, I know NewCath did.
  4. Ok then, I use to go in there back in the early 2000's when I was trying to lose some weight. Had a killer shrimp taco kabob. Your right, looks like Dixie Chili...
  5. Looking for a pregame meal, is Szechuan Gardens still open? Asking for a friend.
  6. Wow! Interesting stuff, thanks for posting. I can't believe I just added wins vs losses up for coaching eras but I couldn't help myself. For Highlands, I am surprised that Lynn Ray owned Duffy 5-2, I would not have believed that but he did. For CovCath Wirth was 0-10 and Brossart 0-3. Some tough years. I was also surprised that Lynn Ray was 23-14 against the Birds and according to some former players could/should have been a lot more wins during his time. Eddie doing very well sitting at 10-2 and of course Dale at 26-6 with a whole bunch of wins in a row. Should be a great game tonight. Go Birds, Beat Colonels!
  7. Wow! Love your analogy but you are way over thinking this...
  8. Lock em night for the Birds...
  9. Stop, CovCath is no David. Maybe King David but not someone who hasn’t been there done that… Congrats to the Blueboys, top notch win.
  10. Discipline usually wins these games in the end…
  11. Highlands offense continues to be sub par and non effective imo, zero chemistry . They say Defense wins Championships…
  12. Highlands is physically bigger and stronger than they have been in many years and not what I was alluding to. My physicality comment is referring to them being a bit tired or not in tip top game shape. Probably has something to do with the Defense not getting much rest. Of the two, definitely more not being mentally conditioned.
  13. Highlands should not have lost this game this past Friday imo. If you watched it in person, anyone that knows anything about football knows this. Unforced mistakes by the other team was the difference. Highlands self implosion was a direct result of not being fully prepared both physically and mentally. On the other hand, CovCath was prepared and did a great job capitalizing on Highlands mistakes, very good programs do this and I do give them the Win in this category. In my opinion, this lost will be the wake up call and I believe you will see a different team the rest of the season and Bob will do his best and give the program the best opportunity to win. Go Birds!!!
  14. Lorenzen looks and carries himself exactly the way I remember Jared. This young man may or may not know this yet but he is going to be the man for the next 2 year Highlands.
  15. Sad to not see Geisler get 20-30 touches and TE Schneider not get a single ball thrown his way. LBs and DBs won’t walk up on you if you use your TE. Use your RB to open up your passing game and vice versa but what do I know. I don’t have an issue with kids being emotional but the taunting isn’t the Highlands that I remember and when people say it’s everywhere and everyone does it I just think to myself that Highlands isn’t everyone. CovCath defense made plays and certainly showed resilience when needed and deserved this win.
  16. There’s some meat right there… thx CWB. Yes a big game for both teams imo.
  17. Probably because the winner of this matchup has won more state championships depending on the outcome than perhaps any other rivalry in the State. @Colonels_Wear_Bluecould shed some knowledge on this. I know being in different classes changes things but at Highlands this is how you get ready for the rest of the best.
  18. IMO, Highlands needs this win desperately and anyone that disagrees or says it doesn’t matter is out of touch and will not be on this site talking about the Birds in December. Go Birds, Beat Colonels
  19. But then it might be too humid … pick your poison. As one coach use to say “just play football “
  20. Maybe Highlands will water the field down…?
  21. You maybe right but I have seen some big upsets that should have been sure wins for teams like this. This is why the games are played.
