  1. I have a buddy of mine who coached my oldest son at Highlands and now coaches at NewCath who is telling me this is the year for the Breds. They will win a State Championship and if someone named Beechwood gets in their way along the line then sorry about their luck… Iam going with the Fisheaters in a close one 17-14…
  2. This is an awesome achievement for this young man and is well deserved through some very hard work and quite frankly I hope he reaches this milestone. However… imo this type of stat is not a good thing for an offense. Tells me, Highlands needs to work harder and get better in the Go Zone and stop relying on the 3 pts. When an opposing defense is really good then I get it, you take the 3 pts and move on, game may come down to a FG to win it and I really like Highlands chances in a close game with the kicking game Burleigh. To be perfectly honest, the young man probably should already have the record, way too many 1st down turnovers in Go Zone. Birds are getting better every week and the Koolaide is getting a shade darker Blue every week.
  3. The flea flicker was wide open last week for Highlands, maybe they will run it this week and pull away late.
  4. Well shoot you are right, it sounded good though. It appears that I am having a who’s on first kinda of moment…
  5. I don’t know how to do the copy paste thingy but I did see the hit. It was an awkward collision with contact from both sides, it appeared to have evidence of a high low hit. Actually one from the front and the other from an back angle. Hope the young man is ok, unfortunately still the risks of the game whether illegal hit or not. Vicious and dangerous sport with lots of uncontrollable testosterone flowing…
  6. How does he say it? “this drips of sarcasm “…?
  7. I think everyone is forgetting what put CovCath in this position in the first place. Back to back false starts put this scenario into full swing… no pun intended.
  8. Could very well be. I just hope it doesn’t get lopsided again…
  9. Could give a rats tail who coached Highlands in 2015 unless they won a State Championship… You do know the story behind Tubby Smith right?
  10. You are proving my point. Unqualified leadership saved by Tubbys team. Does it really matter?
  11. Great game tonight for both teams. Glad to see obviously a Highlands win. Scratched my head when Eddie got lock jaw right after CovCath shoved it down Highlands throat. The back to back penalties and then the safety exposed a conservative approach with the game on the line
  12. No actually Beau Hoge beat the Blueboys those two years…
  13. No Highlands coach since Dale has beaten CovCath. Congrats Coach Bob and staff…
  14. The Dale Mueller curse is over… Birds back on top.
  15. Calling it as I see it from a Highlands fan sorry….
  16. Someone said there was a football game in Park Hills tonight…
  17. I hope you are being facetious and trying reverse psychology with a post like this… WOW!!!
  18. Highlands most consistent threat on Offense is their kicker.
  19. Lol, I see what you did there Tdy… Agree with you 100%. I say that when this team decides to play for one another and the program and not just themselves is when Highlands will be back as a program. Way too many individuals making a good play and celebrating themselves and looking for approval from the Highlands crowd. Approval by your peers is gained by showing respect to your opponents, your teammates and your school. Keep working hard Birds, the majority of the kids have bought in…
  20. Agree they have some nice athletes and most probably a contender. But let’s remember everyone brings their A game against Highlands… My point, if Raceland plays like they did tonight with the intensity and passion they will be a tough out. They did appear to be a very mature looking group of young men though…
  21. Is it actually Highlands or Highland?
  22. Congrats to the Blueboys, they were extremely well prepared and they sure did execute well. Eddie had a very nice game plan and executed it very well, furthermore Ed is a seasoned OC and stuck to his game plan, he was patient and owned the time of possession in this game. His young men rose to the occasion. CovCath will be a tough out moving forward IMO. I did get the “CovCath laid in the weeds first game” kind of feeling because they only played well enough to win the first match in Ft Thomas. To me that’s what really good programs do to other teams. They give you a false sense of accomplishment and then wham!!!, attack the heck out of you. Highlands has a lot of off-season work to get done to be better from top to bottom . I would like to see an immediate search or appointment of a Special Teams coach, perhaps @JOAT would accept this position. It’s the little things that seemed to be missing throughout the season, jmo. Back to work Birds, lets hope it begins on Monday.
