The Jags take the trip to Ft. Thomas this week. HHS is coming off a big emotional win over Cov Cath and Cooper handled Boone Co. this past week. Big district game! Who wins and why?

Hopefully the Birds don’t have an emotional hangover. Birds should win by 14 if both teams play at their best.

Cooper by 7.

This game can be watched on The (859) Sports Radio with Mark Wehry and Kevin Connor.  Guest appearance by The Skinny with Vinny Listerman on camera.   With Cooper playing CCH close and scoreless in the 2nd half, this has the makings of back to back 5A classics in this district.

Lets go Highlands.

Last week was last week.  Focus on the Jags!

Its a NEW Week, get the Victory out of your head, and FOCUS!

If it’s not close, it’s all Bluebirds. But, Cooper is a well-coached squad and capable of pulling an upset after the emotionally charged victory over CovCath. A close game would not surprise me.

O'Hara is on fire look for another big game by the Freshman!

This one will be all Highlands.

I’ve seen Highlands twice this year. Against SK and then CovCath. Both games the offense showed up, and the CovCath game where the defense showed up. I’ve yet to see Cooper. Can anyone give a good break down of how Cooper operates? If it’s going to be a close one I may choose to watch this one in person.

Freshman Quarterback is the craziest.

I know Chad Lawrence has worked with him the past few years to get him ready to be a very good qb.

Most offenses have been on fire coming off of games vs. Conner and Boone this season. If Cooper cannot run the ball, I think the QB will be in trouble. HHS had 6 sacks vs. CCH when CCH was unable to run. That is tough on any QB let alone a frosh that hasn't played many good teams. Cooper scored 0 vs. GRC, 10 vs. Ryle and struggled to beat Dixie and Campbell County. Cooper has some nice players and this could stay tight for a while with all that is on the line for the Birds. If the Birds don't win this one, I will be very surprised and disappointed.

This may seem counterintuitive but I would have been more worried about an emotional hangover in this one had the Birds lost to CCH. With what they have in front of them now, they should be laser focused.
