Yeah, ABC missed waaaaaaay too many classes in the day, sitting at home watching wheel of fortune. The scene probably went something like " Pat, I will take a vowel for $500 please" and "hey Qyrce if your not doing anything constructive grab me another donunt would ya". To the thread, could the HHS vs Elder game at the Pitt draw a national audience. Heard that this could make someones schedule as well. That would be a dandy, I for one have seen many of the games on Thurs nights over the yrs and the this matchup so late in the yr could make for some really good disciplined football between two State powers. JMO, Drive for Five!!!!!

Congrats to Troy. Had the pleasure to meet him at the Best of Bluegrass All Star game. This kid was the best kept secret in NKY imo and somehow got lost in the shuffle. Someone else said it, "his best days of football are ahead of him". I couldnt agree more. Good Luck Troy.

Why not? Throw the records out the window when these two meet. Usually the team that wants it the most, wins more times then not in big rivalry games. You are right though, NewCath has like 71 boys in the whole school compared to 500 Blueboys in Covington so you analogy of "fathom" should be on the money. IDK, I dont get it either.

Sounds like a great game between the Campbell Cty Catholics and the Kenton Cty Catholics. Also sounds like the battle between the two big guys was won by the Football guy. Just sayn.

I know this has been a common theme in NKY this yr when NewCath plays. I hope the other Region refs will see it the same way. If not then NewCath is going to have some problems.. JMO. Their Offense is dependent on their smoothering Defense which creates turnovers and then "easy layups". Not questioning, just not sure the rest of the state will take to this physical style of play. I like it though, Good Luck to the Breds.

WIth a little bit of maintenance Highlands still has a good 5 yrs left. Heck a bad shape Field Turf field is still better then a great shape grass field on a muddy night. JMO.

Not so fast my friend...... I know this is a Boys thread but nobody said anything about it being Boys or Girls. Soooooo, Iam going to put Boone Ctys Nell Fookes "Heel Stomping" show up against Billy Hicks. Probably not fair to compare because I have never seen Hicks coach but if anyone has ever seen Coach Fookes do her thing "it is the price of admission" . JMO

In all seriousness though, if there is any truth to the fact that indeed "a" coach has been fired then this is too bad imo. CovCath deserves better and when I say CovCath I mean the kids not the fans, or the alumn or the PHM. Not sure if the current staff as a whole is "perfect" but the administration must build on what they have now and its pretty decent imo right now. Move on people, besides the 8th grade class is looking real good and some say it might be the best ever. Keep working hard Blueboys. Remember, when they quit talking about ya then you are really in trouble. Take it as a compliment.

Nope, great Defense on both ends of the floor. Absolutely nothing inside for either team as both teams executed the zone to perfection. Highlands hit nothing from the perimeter and NewCath hit 3 or 4 threes and a few other shots. Actually most of the games points came off of turnovers during the press and steals, all for easy layups. Highlands missed a bunch from the free throw line. Would not have won it, but maybe a 4 pt loss instead of 12.

Conner is out. Has not played in a few weeks. Won't disclose injury for obvious reasons. She will be back in a week or so. NewCath was clearly the better team and deserved the win yesterday. For those that dont know, its one of those rivalrys that you throw the records out the window and teams come to play. Great game to watch, I know the Boone Cty girls were in attendance, smart move by Coach Fookes imo, she knows that it was going to be a battle and she has her team there to let them see that both teams on any one night can cause the big dog problems if you dont take care of business. JMO.

The CJ didnt name kids that made the AP and the AP didnt name kids that made the CJ and I am sure that BGP will name kids that either made one or both and maybe neither one. I just hope that when it comes out people won't degrade or defeat a kids accomplishment in the eyes of someone elses opinion just because their candidate didnt get the call. Besides, I will bet if BGP members rip the BGP voting system like they did AP and CJ then they might just get a call to the principals office and a little vacation. LOL.

Sorry, but Not against this NC defense she wouldnt. This isnt your Fathers Highlands or NC teams of old or Girls basketball. These are athletic kids that dont move, play or act like Ladies at times. Yes, I just described Ms Richey back in the day but guess what, the game has caught up to the times and the days of one athlete single handling a whole team and scoring 56 is over. Especially say the top 5 or 6 teams in NKY. Better conditioned, better coached and prepared and in the end better athletes as a whole. Now to the game, this was a war. The referees let em play. And when I say let em play, they beat the heck outta one another, and thats ok imo as long as nobody gets seriously hurt. I know Dawn coaches his girls at a different level and he gets the most out of them or else. Just the way it is when you play for Coach Dawn. They played a very, very tough Zone in your face defense against HHS with a chaser on HHS scoring threat Schaeffer. Result, 22 pts for HHS. HHS was just as effective with their Defense but caught in screens 3 or 4 times and NC made the 3's. The difference in the game. Coach Richey had a nice game plan as well, result NC 34 pts. This was a great game to watch with a great crowd in attendance and they got their moneys worth. This will be a dandy District re-match with Highlands winning it. JMO. Go Birds.

And this is why Alabama is Alambama and KY is KY. Kentucky just doesnt go after the kids hard enough imo. If Grubbs was on KY radar last yr and they backed off because he commited to Miami then shame on them. Sounds like an excuse to me. JMO. Just cant lose kids to outta state Div 1 programs. PERIOD!!!
