have organized and focused practices? Sounds as if you need to coach. Roger Zornes is a legend in the 16th region and he couldn't nor did he want to stay to change the attitude and atmosphere of this program. What is gone from Boyd Co. is the PRIDE of wearing that LION uniform. When the kids there respect what was the BOYD CO. PROGRAM and accept the challenge of restoring that PRIDE, then and only then will they have success.:fight:

Trey Parsons is a a GIFT for the Boyd program! His knowledge and work ethic will spread like wild fire throughout the program. Give this staff time and they will get results. I don't know the circumstances with the senior, but I can tell you that if you're trying to build a program, a senior from a previous coach can sometimes hinder what the new staff is trying to accomplish. Again, I do not know why just offering my opionion.

Elliott Returns 4 starters and should be in the mix

You are right in the since that the KHSAA does not have control over the summer basketball, but, this tourney spells out it very clearly that this is YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TEAM. The arrogance abounds in those who feel like both Euton and Jackson's rulings will be reversed. So, in typical fashion, go ahead, STRUT YOUR STUFF, I'm sure there's nobody watching....:sssh:

Bath Co. should be so proud of their Coach... I guess when you bring the "Circus" to town, you always ended up with the CLOWNS!

I think Coach Holt at Lewis Co. would be a great fit. She is a Mason Alum and she has done a great job at Lewis Co.

Seeding is great way to get the best teams there, but with a draw system in the region and in the state, you still are not getting the "great matchups". Also, with seeding, you have to play everyone twice in your district so in a 4 team district there you have 6 games on your schedule already. If you are a class "A" school this becomes a scheduling nightmare! With that regional "A" and state "A" tourney plus those six games it makes your scheduling alternatives pretty thin. So I would say draw, because I feel like it will let you schedule other opponents throughout the season to better prepare you for the postseason. Now, if they decide to seed the regional and state tourneys then by all means let's seed it all!

A lot people want to think that at the Varsity Level if their child is on the bench that they deserve "fair" playing time. I have seen parents who believe that everyone should play even if it means the team might lose. Remember, Junior Varsity and Freshmen basketball is about learning, Varsity is about WINNING. The COACH and the PLAYERS decide who plays and for how long. It is rare that you will see players on the floor for a Varsity team that is not the best chance for the team to win. If a Senior wants to play, remember, you are only as good as your last practice, game, etc.. the coach has no loyalty for someone who believes that just because you are Senior you deserve to play.

Final. Lady lions lose a tough one. Shae Ferguson went 7/10 from 3pt range in the losing effort. Keep your heads up ladies....there are better things to come:thumb:

I find it amazing that Elliott Co. fans are the only ones that are ever "out of hand" I have been around the 16th region for many years and can tell you that EVERY school has fans that sometimes go a little to far. Again, I stress that when games are emotional, most people say or do things they they would not normally say or do. Please keep in mind that this happens everywhere and should not be an attack slanted at Elliott Co.'s fans.

Great Job

Ms Barr was cheered by the EC team and Coaching staff. The game ball was not given because Rowan did not bring one. Elliott showed class in that they allowed the game to be stopped and recognized her on this great achievement. I was at the game as well and can tell you that anyone who bought a ticket saw two very good teams playing their hearts out. What happens in the stands unfortunately occurs without any doing of either school. The fans on both sides are very passionate and unfortunately things were said that probably shouldn't have been. Rowan is a GREAT team and fun to watch. Should be noted that Elliott lost this game in the 2nd quarter when the point guard for Elliott went to the bench with her 3rd foul.(40 seconds left in the 1st quarter) and did not return until the 3rd quarter. Hope to see this match up again soon.:dancingpa

it is amazing that everyone wants to talk about subbing and that if Elliott doesn't start doing this it they won't be able to win. These kids are better conditioned than any group in the state period! They played 3 games this week and showed that conditioning by playing a very good Christian Co. team and BEATING them. When they LOSE playing their way, then all of the posters on here can talk about Coach Mays and his staff not subbing enough, until then, let it go...they are winning this way.:ylsuper:
