  1. I heard that they were going to hire George Bellamy former Morgan Co. coach.
  2. Just letting everyone know that The KY Senior All-Stars will be playing the Ky Junior All-Stars at the Elliott Co. High School gym on June 11th at 7:00pm. Local fan favorites Ethan and Evan Faulkner of Elliott Co. will be joined by such players as Mr. Basketball John Hood in this tune up game before they face the Indiana All-Stars on June 14th at Belleramine in Louisville. So everyone come out and show your support for GREAT BASKETBALL in the 16th Region:dancingpa
  3. Now that was funny:D
  4. Congrats to Coach Layne, she will do a great job!
  5. Congratulations to Lakin for being the first female from Elliott Co. to receive an athletic scholarship. Asbury is getting a tremendous player and an all-around great kid. We look forward to watching you in the Purple and White next season.:dancingpa
  6. Boys are not forced to play on any night. Girls on the other hand have to play 40% of all home games on a prime time night. This is kinda a reverse of what Title IX was meant for. Now Boys can play when ever and girls have to play according to these guidelines. This doesn't help anyone. This rule has to be revisited soon.:idunno:
  7. :laugh:There obviously is no bias in your posts at all.(check the name out) I can assure you that Rowan Co. has plenty of as you called them "drunk hillbillies" in there stands. What amazes me about your posts is that you still are driven to post about this game and make comments that are negative when your team won the game and it is over! As I stated in an earlier post, why don't you yourself show some class and Grow Up! Let it go. Enjoy being with your seniors for the last time. With the "dark" rumours that have floated around about the "inner circle" of your program, I'm not sure that the fine people of Rowan Co. want to resort to name calling and pointing fingers.:sssh:
  8. Troy Lee Thomas would be the just the answer for Fleming Co. As a former assistant to coach Kelly, I believe what he can bring to Fleming will be enough to push them over the top and win a region title.
  9. It is amazing that a girl that ties the tourney record for most rebounds in the tourney, has the the most rebounds in a game since 1978 in the tourney, who averaged 18pts, 17rebounds, and 6 block shots would even have to justify why she was selected as the MVP of the WHOLE Tournament! What is sad about this is that if you ask her she would gladly trade trophies with Martin anyday. Quit disrespecting not only this great young ladies accomplishments but the coaches who voted her MVP. This is what is wrong with high school sports, no one is ever satisfied, everyone wants to attack those who acheive. Grow up. The game is over. The Elliott Co. lady lions by far exceeded expectations. When Lakin continues her career at the next level I'm sure that those who end their high school career after this season will wish they had what she does.
  10. Hats off to Coach Renner and the boys from Ballard. They are and were a Class Act last night on and off the court. From all of us in the "HOOK" we wish you well the rest of the season, and again thank you for participating in such a memorable game for this community.
  11. Congrats to Kat, a great game for great kid.
  12. Griffith for Elliott Co. 19pts 11 rebs a game.:ylsuper:
  13. Congrats Kelsey, a great accomplishment for a great kid
  14. Ashland and Greenup Co. must have the same weatherman....
  15. So this means someone is going to be playing at another gym today. Who will be moved?
  16. So has Elliott locked up the #1 seed?
  17. I would say that if the person receiving the pass shoots, or dribbles without having to make a "move" on the defense and scores, it is an assist. All fast breaks that end in a layup with one person passing and another receiving,i.e. break away situation.. regardless of dribbles in my opinion would be an assist.
  18. The people that whine about the schedule and say that this team can't compete with the elite teams are reaching for reasons why this team just keeps WINNING. This group of kids are just that WINNERS. If you ask any of them, at the end of the night it doesn't matter if it's the Boston Celtics or Riverside Christian, in the end it's all about the "W" and getting ready for the state tourney. Remember, if they are fortunate enough to repeat as 16th Region champs, that will be 3 straight trips to Rupp Arena for a school with 300 students and all homegrown talent. I dare any program in the state to try and build their own program with these numbers and compete for 3 straight trips to the big dance. Not gonna happen.
  19. Instant Classic for those that got to see this game played at East Carter.:dancingpa
  20. The game is still on with a 8:00pm start time. It'll be cold outside, but I guarantee you it will be HOT inside with this game.:fire:
  21. Congrats to the Lady Cougars, was this an upset??
  22. Why didn't Terry play?
