Like you said before, with the one of the favorite things for posters to say on Coach Huey, there is no universal terminology. To me, utilizing zone techniques as your rules for your blocking schemes, is running zone. Just because a team doesn't run IZ/OZ doesnt mean they are not zone blocking. But, I think we might just be splitting hairs.

Double slip= double team a down lineman, then slip off to the linebacker. If you double team someone then come off to another, to me, that is zone blocking because you are blocking an area(zone). Gap schemes utilize the same concept on their block down kick out blocking assignments. HHS never double teamed

You name me one team that does not double slip a 3 techniquestions to get to the LB! Even wing t teams double slip to the LB, and that is zone blocking. Dale's team never did, period.

They run a completely different offense now compared to when Dale was there. Dale's teams always had man blocking schemes upfront, from the day he left it was switched to a zone blocking scheme. When you would talk X and O's with Dale he loved the man scheme and took great pride in the fact that almost no other team in the state or country for that matter still used that blocking scheme. Defensively, even in the years they were winning, you would watch film and wonder what they were doing because some things were odd but they would make up for it with pure speed. They would gamble and roll the dice a lot on defense knowing that they were going to score on offense. Now they have trouble stopping teams but the offense still runs hurry up when they can't move the ball effectively.

You would think getting about 4 fumble recoveries they would have won.

I have not seen him out run anyone yet.

Lot of hops, for someone that is very challenged in the speed department. I might believe the vertical before I believe the 40 time listed.

The stats I posted were before tonights games.

Jackson about 19 carries a game and Torres 20 carries a game.

Jackson has played three games and Torres has only played two games. Torres is averaging a 100 yards more per game.

It takes a minimum of 44 players to two platoon. If not, the guys running scout team are your varsity first team players.

I like practice a whole lot more than games
