Ive heard rumors that there is a new OC at Beechwood. Can anyone confirm? I've heard its either new offensive line coach Bob Burnett or Randy Tomlinson. Thanks in advance.

So is Hergott headed elsewhere, or on a hiatus from coaching? He's been around Beechwood as a coach for a decent while, if memory serves.

Before rumors may start to run amuck, these changes are all personal decisions made by each of the individuals involved. Personal and family situations change over the years and people make changes based on those changes. No one stays in one place forever.

 

The insinuation above by t horns that these changes were made out of dissatisfaction with the coaches is not accurate. Coach Hergott and Brilz helped lead the Tigers to state titles. There aren't many coaches wearing two state championship rings.

Beechwood has never had a offensive problem in my knowledge but I still think they won't with the change either but having a new QB that will take a few games to get use too..

T Horns why do you believe it's an upgrade for BW with Hergott and Brilz gone? My son who played for them in early 2000's loved both of them.

Brilz was absolutely awesome with the lineman. Great Christian man and leader with NFL experience. What more could you want your son exposed to. Hergott was a brilliant offensive mind, Beechwood and UC football pedigree. Many people criticized his micro-management communication system requiring QBs to come to the sidelines between every play. I for one, never understood why a young coach would not put in a current and better communication system. Did he never feel confident in himself, or the intelligence of his QBs?

Hergott is not out ... new job so he stepped into a different role.

Sorry, I haven't kept up with football in awhile, as well as getting on BGP as often. If I would have seen this thread I would have attempted to look for the answers, but good thing is we now have the answers.

^ THIS, the sad reality of high school sports, as well as any other activity or hobby, income comes elsewhere and many times people have to step down, good thing here is that Hergott was able to find a way to stay with the team.
