Exactly. The same time players used "the bounce" and didn't dribble. The same time players "dished" and didn't pass. The same time players started "scoring the basketball" and didn't just score or shoot well. Basically, when the number of TV commentators increased 10 fold.

Listerman was clearly job-hopping. Vories had a job come up at his alma mater. Other than that, I think it clearly IS the running off successful coaches by the parents and/or the administration--CD hit the nail on the head. Minor was successful but if I remember correctly hadn't been cleared to teach in KY (he found the Finneytown job AFTER he was released). Wolfzorn was successful, released as teacher, but still told he'd be coach. Herald is not in the building but given the circumstances of last season I'd see no reason to not give him a full year to work with the kids. In their situation, I don't think you run a coach off just because they're not in the building. Bottom line, given the turnover and troubles they have had hiring/firing coaches, you would think they'd hang on to one who is doing a good job--especially when you don't have a plan for the next one and there are not going to be any positions in the school to fill it with.

If anything, a few parents. Not really sure. That seems to be the way things go in some small schools--well, I guess some big ones too.

I could have re-worded that one better. He wanted a chance to have an entire off-season and preseason to get to work with the team--he was hired in September and with football, probably didn't even see his entire team to know what he had to work with until mid-November.

To answer your two questions: 1. No, they are not (once again because of their own doing) 2. Yes, he wanted a season where he actually got to coach a whole season

Agreed. I don't think anyone has questioned his work. Just the equipment being used.

That is not the case at all. There hasn't been a crowd yet any bigger than there was for some of the top NKU games. Also, there was the UL/NKU games, concerts, circus, etc. where the arena was nearly sold out.

:lol: I was sitting near the Beechwood section and they were on the officials all night. They were whistled for their first foul of the second half at the 5:00 mark of the 4th and they went nuts complaining about it.

Starting 15 minutes early IS a big deal if you're only coming to the second game. There's not going to be a game going on because it started at 6:00 so why get there early? BTW, the NKU games are scheduled two hours and 15 minutes apart and the women's game usually leave about 45 minutes between games and they DO wait until 7:45 to start the men's game. The state tournament games are only scheduled an hour and half apart and they run longer because they have a media timeout every quarter. As was stated, they typically run behind schedule because of that.

Yeah, I heard the Holmes/Ryle announcement.:lol: All I'm saying is, if you put it in the newspapers as 6pm and 8pm, don't start the second game until 8pm. Like I said, it didn't effect me but it was a bad move.

I'm not sure either but Highlands bench seemed pretty sure about it. Also, the radio or internet guy right next to the HHS bench had the score 44, not 43.

Right on. Romes was not 100% but did play at least 2/3 or 3/4 of the game. And the FT did kill them.

So all three missed it? Did they have Lother or Grubbs (whoever) making his first FT or not?

Who was told this? The papers had 6pm and 8pm. Didn't effect me either way but I know some who it did effect. You have a better chance of keeping fans for both games if you have them immediately after one another. If my team has just finished playing and there is 50 minutes before the next game, do I stay?

You are not the official score. Not your fault. There were 2 or 3 scorebooks there. How did all 2 or 3 of them miss it?

I was not at the girl's games on Monday or Tuesday so I don't know if this happened earlier in the week. Unless I missed it, the games were scheduled for 6pm and 8pm tonight, which is a bad idea to begin with because there were 50 minutes between games (at least as they were scheduled). But and even worse idea is to start a game scheduled for 8pm at 7:45. Did this happen at the girl's games and does anyone know why this happened?

Highlands looked pretty impressive in the second half. Quick start to the second half and then put it away with a great 4th quarter. As stated, Grubbs was a huge difference inside.

I know the Beechwood fans were upset but come on. Beechwood didn't have a foul called on them in the first 11 minutes of the second half and only had 2 the entire second half until they started fouling. A really good game. Both teams had spurts where they looked really good but neither teamed played great. Boone earned a hard fought win.

Defensive style has a lot to do with it but so does offense. Some teams continually attack the basket by driving or dumping it into the post and some teams shoot a lot of threes and their posts fade away from the basket. Above all, people just want consistency but, no, the fouls should not be even most of the time. Another problem is people look at the final stats and see a 15 FTA differential and assume there's bias but the winning team may have gone to the line 10 times in the last minute because the losing team was fouling intentionally.

Darnell had a great game but his teammates picked him up as well. They cut a 16-point deficit down to 3. The run started with Darnell on the floor but it continued while he was on the bench--which enabled Coach Russell to keep him on the bench for the first couple of minutes in the 4th. I'm sure the Wildcats would rather have Darnell on the floor but the whole team deserves credit for their comeback.
