  1. How good is Seidel (sp)? Didn't he lead the region in scoring?
  2. 1. Corbin 2. South 3. Bell 4. Clay 5. Knox 6. Harlan Co. 7. M'boro 8. Lynn Camp 9. Pineville 10. Barbourville
  3. Where is the box score? How did Desmond Johnson perform?
  4. Does anyone have the full box score? How did Cumberland's Desmond Johnson do?
  5. I agree. Very bad decision on Powell's part!
  6. Miller - Knox Crawford - Corbin St. John - South Laurel Seidel - North Laurel Zachery - Bell Co. Caldwell - Harlan Co. Whitaker - Hazard Campbell - Hazard Warren - Hazard Cox - June Buchanon/Knott Co. Stepp - June Buchanon These are some names off of the top of my head. I'm not sure about the 12th/15th regions.
  7. I've seen a lot of those in my house as well. It seems to me, however, that most of these boys love the intensity of the practices. It is something they probably aren't used to, but it is good to see the excitment in their eyes.
  8. I heard that Miller could really turn out to be a good player. Supposedly, he was very impressive during the open gym period, but I haven't heard much since actual practice has started. I want to know the news! Could there be a transfer in place?
  9. I would probably put Simmons in before Clark, but they are both talented. I agree that Gilliam and Green will be tough for the Bears.
  10. That is so true! Being involved in one of these schools, I can tell you first hand that a lot of these kids aren't taught anything. Another coach and me have started working with 3rd graders at our school, trying to break the chain of bad fundamentals - it is a tough job, too!!! But, it is the only way they're going to improve.
  11. I was being a tad bit biased...haha. Just "joshing" a little.
  12. I would think that is the best way to build a program! If the base isn't strong, the rest will fall!
  13. Let's hope Coach Greer doesn't read BGP. Ouch!
  14. Nice story - had to comment. I thought you were finished coaching? On topic - Link for a 1,000: Under Hensley for 10td's: Over (QB)/Under (WR) 30 men on roster: Over Pennington's 80 tackles: Over I predict the starting safety will lead the team in tackles - is that too harsh?
  15. I coached on the 5/6th grade team, and if you did call (I'm not saying you didn't), we had way too many games to add another one. Just to add, we didn't lose any of them, either. Not boastful, just proud! :thumb:
  16. In my opinion, the Hall Middle School coaches are top notch! If I had a kid, that is where I would send him/her. They seem to prepare their players for the next level. :thumb:
  17. Sounds enticing, doesn't it Youth Coach?
  18. The SBDM members of the school met today and discussed a new mascot/colors. It's looking like they will be the Trojans. As for the colors, red will be in it, probably mixed with the royal blue - similar to Jackson Co. This is not set in stone, though. The school name was mentioned because Hall was named after a family, but it will probably remain the same. Personally, I like your second proposal.
  19. I've heard David Hensley. He recently resigned from Dunbar and has past experience as head coach of East Jessamine and Madison Central.
  20. I was being sarcastic. But, it would make for an interesting matchup.
  21. They should go ahead and hire former Bell Co. Coach - Whitaker. That would make for an interesting district matchup!
  22. I have been well acquainted with the M'boro football team - they beat my team 3 out of four years. They are always loaded with talent and athleticism. They are also a very disciplined team. I'm sure that the basketball players are no different than the football players, which means they, too, can be discipline and play defense. I think a good summer program would eliminate most of the bad habits - if he stresses discipline. Some of the responsibility has to fall back on the coach.
  23. Green probably learned a lot from his parents. I'm interested to see how their team pans out this season.
  24. Johnson signed with LMU, I think yesterday. Here is the thread.
  25. Desmond Johnson, Cumberland, signed to play with Lincoln Memorial University this week. Here is the link: Johnson to play at LMU
