Seems to me the Middlesboro QB needs to worry about the Corbin DB's and not Cashen.

How many teams competed? And how was the order of finish determined? Did bigger schools have an advantage because they had more numbers???

it wasn't the people or the hospitality I disliked. Harlan has some great people and Coach Donahoe at Harlan High is a great coach. The thing I dislike is the trip up 119, then if you have to go to Evarts or Cumberland those final miles which are pure heck.

WHy does every thread have to turn into a Corbin vs WHtiley thing??? I would say there are a lot of Four A Schools that couldn't win the 2A championship. I would say Corbin couldn't win the Single A Championship. What the heck does that have to do with anything. But I would agree that it is a great reflection on Corbin to be and equal with Whitley most years.

Sod?? Just sew some fescue or bluegrass, it doesn't have to be the best. As for attracting a new coach. I'd say that they'll end up hiring from within, from one of the existing schools for most athletic positions.

Okay. That's true. I was just trying to suggest that both programs were fairly equal.

The job wouldn't have to be posted. You don't have to post the additional duty positions. They could hire a teacher into a position that is already posted. In addition, it's not uncommon for schools to "hire" someone before the posting period is up, or even before it happens. They just don't sign any paperwork until it's "legal."

I think the debate on what would happen between Whitley and Corbin if they played annually is funny. I think that if they played 10 times, over a 10 year period it would probably be 5-5, maybe 6-4 one way or the other. Fact is that both schools have good programs. Corbin does better in the playoffs because they face weaker playoff compeition. But overall I think the strength of the programs is very similar.

I think Duncam was a better QB than Cashen. But Cashen is still a very good one. I think his hype may exceed his actual game. A solid QB, one that almost all schools would love to have. Smart. Good Decisions. Strong Arm. But no chance at All State or Mr Football.

Another really good non district schedule, put it together with two tough District opponents and Corbin has one of their tougher schedules in years.

I never said he didn't have the ability to be a good basketball player. But the fact is that most all of those trying out got full rides to play college ball. Whitaker is a good player, but not one of the 12 best in Kentucky. If he was a 4 or 5, he'd have a better chance to make the team, but he's not among the better perimeters at tryouts.

You may not be surprised at Whitaker, but nobody outside of Bell County is picking him to make the team. I still say he won't make it.

I know that Proffit has signed with Notre Dame. Where are Smith and Hammond going??? It looks as if all the starting five from their state championship team from two years ago will be playing college athletics somewhere!

You said they had a "tendancy to fold." I'm sure the only game you've seen them play is the LC game. So if they didn't fold in the game you saw, how can you say they "have a tendency to fold."
