  1. Jackson, Stapleton, Back, and McDavid of East Carter had big years last year and should again. They hit 1-4 in the order last season.
  2. 2008 East Carter 25 wins 11 losses Regional Semi-final 2007 East Carter 22 wins 8 losses Lost to Boyd In Regional opener. 2006 East Carter 27 wins 5 losses lost to Ashland 2-1 in regional opener. 2005 East Carter 20 wins 12 losses lost to Boyd in extra innings in regional because of a two out error in the 7th. East has had tough draws in 3 of the 4 years, they beat Boyd last year 9-5 in regular season. East returns several position players and a great nucleus. Should hit it and field it very well, needs to develop depth on the mound.
  3. Ridiculous comment! Poor individual play, poor execution of game plan, poor leadership on the floor, no mental toughness, all of those are better excuses than poor coaching! East will be fine, just stick behind your team. Fair weather fans are a dime a dozen. Go Raiders!!!!!
  4. West is 8-1 and better than people thought, not great, but competetive. Lewis, Morgan, and Boyd are all average at best, probably slightly below average. Boyd has gotten lit up a few times this year. South Charleston is supposed to be very good, they have good tradition and were ranked #1 in WV's largest class. They would probably compare to GRC or someone similar in KY this year.
  5. I would say over the course of the season those WC teams averaged in the 70's somehwere, Ashland probably a little lower, and Boyd a little higher. Ashland went to the state finals in '96, but didn't blow people out that season. Boyd was probably the best team in the region those years and may have averaged 80 points a game. They were ranked in the top 5 in the state all year.
  6. Almost everyone. I believe they return 6 or 7 starters and all their starting pitching except for Hieneman.
  7. Greenup Co. is the best team in the 16th, they are far ahead of Boyd Co. who is on your list. Boyd may be the 4th best team in the 16th.
  8. Take Ferguson out of the lineup and Elliott is still a top 15 team, take Ethan and Evan Faulkner out and they are like many other Elliott teams to come through, talented offensively with no leadership or coaching.
  9. Nice way for the Lady Raiders to bounce back! Congrats on the W.
  10. Apparently this took place after the game, not a big deal, the official did his job and everything worked out. My last statement about the referee was not accurate, this particular official is not one to try to make the game about himself as some are.
  11. Never heard of either. Must not be a big impact transfer. Where is the kid from?
  12. It may have been an arrogant referee wanting to show everyone who was in charge. Not saying that is the case, but there are 2 sides to every story.
  13. Any Wayne Breeden coached team is going to be very tough. Tates Creek played Scott Co. tough tonight losing by 5. East will be fine, they have a good nucleus of talent. Things tend to even out later in the year with teams that have other legitimate sports and well-rounded athletic programs making strides on those who focus on only one sport.
  14. 20 minutes and 38 seconds? The newer clocks now have 1/10 of a second when under 1 minute. Did you take that into consideration???
  15. Coach Kidwell will have them back and competing sooner than most think. One thing is for sure, they will play hard every night.
  16. He really seemed like a great guy. I talked to him at Cocoa Expo last year, and he was first class all the way. Prayers and sympathy go out to his family.
  17. 1st Paducah Tilghman 2nd Christian County 3rd Owensboro 4th Warren Central 5th Adair County 6th Fairdale 7th J'twon 8th Anderson Co 9th Holmes 10th Mason Co 11th Scott County 12th McCreary Cent 13th Clay Co 14th Hazard 15th Shelby Valley 16th East Carter TB 11th
  18. Forgot to mention Brandon Webb, a former Cy Young winner, who was runner-up this year.
  19. Seemed like a quality guy. The field there was always immaculate.
  20. What happened to Pulaski's coach from last season?
  21. I really feel bad for the state of the cougars program right now. Hopefully they will bounce back and build something good in West Liberty. Corbin can name the score in this one, I will say 56-0.
  22. Is this the first time Elliott Co. has ever played at Boyd Co.? If so that really surprises me. Most teams in the 16th have played many times at BC. I know as a player in the 90's it was too many times for me, they were tough back then.
  23. Logan WVA and Scott Co. could be a dandy.
