I spoke to a few people who was at the game, biased and unbiased, who also listened to postgame interviews. Seems like Ashland really forced the tempo, with 43 points at the half. Lewis was in a lot of foul trouble, but PG Smith had 19 and both big men had around 15-17. I believe Ashland had 4 players in double figures.

I believe being in the double bonus with seven minutes to play in the first half will help that point total. Ashland shot 25 for 30 from the free throw line. They made 11 more free throws than Lewis Co. and won by 10, that was the difference in the game.

I won't argue with the fact that Will Scaggs played a great game last night. He had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Cody Bowling played out of position all night having to play the 4 and pitched in with 14 points and 6-7 rebounds. Delaney had 19 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Chris Johnson also had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Congrats to all four young men!

Ryan Whetsel and Tyler Hornbuckle both made solid contributions. Ryan W. played 20.38 minutes and had 8 points and I think around 6 rebounds. Ty Hornbuckle got quite a few first half minutes when Chris Johnson got in foul trouble and had 6 points and around 3 rebounds.

Congrats to the Tomcats. I guess I am a little suprised at the young talent in the area. Several teams have underclassmen that are stepping up on the big stage. Basketball looks alive and well for the next few years.:thumb:
