  1. Baseball on the whole is down this year, especially some of the 10th Region teams. Harrison did have #9 Danville in the Kens New Market, but they lost and didn't get to play against them. Some of the teams who are usually competitive in the 10th are terrible so Harrison hasn't been tested too often and when they have it hasn't been real pretty.
  2. Mason with Keller on the mound will beat Bourbon 9 times out of 10.
  3. I like Beechwood to win it with their deep pitching staff.
  4. What's your opinion? I think right now I would have to rate them: 1. Clark County 2. Brossart 3. Scott 4. Harrison County 5. Mason County Any other ideas?
  5. Why did they not call the game after 6 innings?
  6. How did Boone score so many runs? I saw them against Harrison County and Harrison committed 6 errors and still only gave up 6 runs. Wow, I thought from what I have read that Scott was much better than that.
  7. Surprised that Russell beat Keller. Did Keller run out of gas or did his defense self destruct?
  8. So what happened to KCC on Sunday? I heard the players may have gotten food poisening? Is this accurate and if so, where did they eat?
  9. Sounds like that coach needs to retire or grow up!
  10. Sounds like they have righted the ship in Mt. Sterling. Glad to see them playing better! 10th Region Tournament should be a good one again this year!
  11. It was said on the radio that the Harrison County and Barren County game was a JV game. I know that a freshman who had never started a game on the mound, started for the Breds. I had not seen that on the KHSAA website. The reason that Harrison even played Barren was because the Knott County Central kids were sick from food poisening apparently and couldn't play Sunday and Barren County had spent the night. According to "Jumpin Jim Swinford" the baseball voice of the Thorobreds, the Barren County game was a JV game. I do know that it was not broadcast on the radio and all Varsity games are broadcast. Sounds like a case off Barren County saying it was a Varsity Game and Harrison County saying it was a JV Game. I do know that it was the opinion of the HCHS faithful that it was to be a JV game.
  12. Thanks for the information. I was not aware of that. I thought Pendleton should be a little better than they sounded on the radio.
  13. They are playing very well considering they lost so much last year. They are small and very young, but should be a contender by the end of the season. They are undefeated against in state teams and now have an 8-2 record. :ylsuper:
  14. Not sure which 10th Region teams you have seen Mojo, but the teams I have seen are terrible this year. Look for the strongest of the 10th to be from Brossart, Scott, Campbell, and of course Harrison County. Mason can compete with anyone with Keller on the mound and Clark has some potential. Other than that, the 10th Region is a joke as far as talent goes this year. Montgomery, Bourbon, Nicholas, Paris, Pendleton, etc. etc. etc. are down.
  15. He has a host of good players and most are Freshman. The only problem he may run in to is a numbers game where he has too many good players and not enough innings to go around and keep them all happy. They have 37 or so players on the roster and 29 of them I think are Freshman. They beat conference leader Cumberland 8-7 last Saturday but lost 3 in a row to them afterwards. They also beat #9 Union (34-5) 6-2 at Union on Tuesday to salvage a doubleheader split. Georgetown has a 20-19 record so far.
  16. Thats great that he throws hard like Chaz Roe. I know there are some good baseball players in Kentucky and I love to see them do well. I watched everygame at Applebee's Park in the State Tourney last year and plan to do the same for years to come. I have seen a lot of good baseball players over the past 10 or so years of following high school baseball. Best of luck to all the college signees.
  17. I have not seen the kid pitch, so I must take your word for it. However, if as many kids threw 90 mph as what we list on here, Kentucky would be the baseball capital of the world. There are not many high school players who throw a legitimate 90 mph fast ball with any consistancy or accuracy. I would guess that some of these were clocked with a cheap gun, throwing down hill, with a 40-50 mph wind behind them.
  18. Garmon has never faced any adversity yet. I guess time will tell as to whether he can successfully rebuild his program.
  19. Where are they from and what positions do they play?
  20. Who has already signed and where? Sawyer - Beechwood - Georgetown Ashbrook - Harrison County - Morehead State ??????
  21. Congrats to Eric. He joins former teammate Brandon Slusher and a mass of Freshman. With the talent at Georgetown in their Freshman cloass, they should be a force to reckon with for years to come. What positions does Eric play?
  22. Is he interested in Georgetown? What other positions does he play? Georgetown is loaded with 29 Freshman! Only lose 4 Seniors and have a 20-19 record this year. Who else is looking at him?
