What are you the "point" police??? Who said anyone who wants to make an opinionated prediction without the greatest knowledge can or cannot? Who cares if he/she can name five players from those teams?? I'm glad this is a site that still allows a little freedom as to posting opinion and predictions.

Not according to the KHSAA. The district champion will be the team winning the 2nd week of the playoffs.

The AP is and has always been horrible. There are about two maybe three voters that have a clue Statewide. The others should have their ballots taken away. Too much homerism and too many vote for regional teams that don't really belong in a statewide ranking.

I disagree. With the new playoff setup, Pikeville, Belfry, and Johnson Central will be in the regional championship games and I've been around long enough to know that anything can happen from there on.

That's making the game a mockery just as much as the other coach.

I've seen em both and Belfry will roll---this game won't be that close....4 td's or more.

Attending a two hour clinic doesn't do anything toward knowing rules. IMO, coaches should be tested the same as officials.

SEE MY POST #27 ^^ Been there done that...I officiated in the mountains and was much involved for quite a while. And I do commend the ones that are willing to officiate that actually take the time to learn the rules and try to do as good job. The ones I have issues with are the ones just out there for whatever reason. Believe me, I know the problems with officials in the mountains...travel...recruiting(officials)...etc, etc. However, I disagree about the fans. While other sports seem to have trouble with fans, I really don't believe that is the case in football.

Agreed, but my point is that it is the responsibility of EACH official to know the rules before stepping on the field, no matter their position.

Wrong, individual stats still stand after the forfeit. So he keeps the 595(who some reported was actually 445) on his season total. BTW, the yardage in the record is going to be verified. And Yes, he was piling up yardage because of much weaker against Burch...against Williamson...against Shelby Valley...BUT only 87 yards against Man, WV a team with a 4-2 record.

I find it odd that so many posters have mentioned positioning and there has been very little if any talk of game management and knowledge of the rules. First responsibility SHOULD be rules knowledge and believe it or not there are officials in the mountains that do not know the rules, much less mechanics. Yes, there are some very good officials in the mountains but there are some that have no business being on a varsity field.

I think this game showed Pikeville is not good enough to take anyone lightly.

This thread is about "who is the biggest HOMER?" Dickie Martin wins the award...but he is also very good. He would be great if he weren't so degrading to opposing teams.

The WVSSAC ruled the Matewan forfeits for their first two games would stand. One was against Shelby Valley. They get to keep the Williamson win. My question is why is this back still running the football with the score so lopsided?? He scored all but 4 of his teams points??? :(

Hasn't faced much defense yet, has he??? Better have MAJOR talent to be 6' 2'' and make it in div 1
