I'll give you that one, St. Henry doesn't have any signature wins....hopefully that changes on Wednesday. I think we both have a difference in opinion of each team. I've only seen Highlands once, but wasn't very impressed. I think they match up better than some think. Both teams are very very well coached. Gryche can you list the players we should see for Highlands if you could? Maybe like a scouting report for your own team, then I'll do the same for St. Henry. It would be kinda neat to compare and look at what each team has.

Quick question, send me a personal message if this is too personal, but are you speaking of Keyvon Arnold? I have heard people talk about Kevon Rice a few times on here and think I even heard his name on the radio the other night. Can you clarify? The sophmore SG who is 6'5 or 6'6 is Keyvon Arnold correct? I coached Keyvon Arnold in 8th grade for a few months, very nice kid.

There is one or two Sophmores on the varsity roster that don't see much time. Not sure what the JV breakdown is but I know that there are a few juniors there. Hils, Anderson, Bessler will be the best returners.

#2 in the region is very good in assist but he also has some big bodies to get the ball to on the post. I've seen him and Jake Hils of St. Henry and they seem like the same player. Both are good leaders on the floor, play good defense and dish the ball to everyone else. But they don't score.

I haven't seen him more than 3 times but when I do see him I've left thinking what was all the hype about. He's not a very big scorer. I never see him as an outside threat. He's a very good defender though. Am I missing something? Have I just seen him on bad nights?

Gryche11 you seem quite certain. Were talking about a team that just lost its district game by more than 20pts? St. Henry played Highlands very early in the season. Volz wasn't even in the rotation then and I believe they have many more players that have improved since also. I think Highlands has more muscle and better post prescence, but that doesn't mean they win. St. Henry has some good shooters from the perimeter. They are one of the best FT shooting teams in the region and very good defense squad. What is so hard to believe about the post your reading? Most of them seem logical.

Most of know of the studs that holmes has but who are some of the players we need to watch for. I remember a few years back CovCath and Holmes were favored to win the 9th, but the player that impressed me the most was Brett Lafallete of Conner. He had a great tourny. I also think this is a game that could be very interesting. An upset is possible. But then again Boone has looked very good all year long. I think the difference in this game is the PG position. Who will handle the ball with more care? Who doesn't turn it over more? Who puts better pressure on the opposition. Gabbard is the best TRUE point guard I've seen in the 9th this season. He reminds me a lot of some othe past good ones in the 9th and I see him leading this group to the finals.

I think there are 3 guys at Holmes that will be ranked 1,2,3 before anyone else. Also I think Gabbard has been tremendous this entire year and would be up there before Avery. But I think the Avery kid is a very nice player.

How many Villa players with experience will be back next year besides Blake Bryan??

You must have missed the choke hold he had Bessler in.

I don't know if it was "one of the dirtiest" but it wasn't a clean hustle play. It did seem that there was intent to do more than get the ball back. I think a lot of frustration came out of Bryan on this play due to someone defending him finally.

St Henry dominated this game in every aspect. Bryan wasn't much of a factor. Most of his points came when the game got out of hand. St. Henry led by at least 30 at one time. Keep up the great work Cru and take care of business on Friday night and get yourself ANOTHER district championship. This time the 34th.

Every year Jimmy Hicks has his team prepared for Districts. I have only seen Conner once this year and it was the first time they played Conner. They looked very good. I haven't seen Ryle but saw them quite a bit last year and was very impressed with what they had coming back. I'd like to say Jimmy Hicks does it again becaues I think he's one of the best coaches in the region, but I'll say Mitch McCliesh and Andy Ahern are too much for the Cougars. Ryle 57 Conner 52

I think that they will throw a few things at Bryan. He's probably going to see some 2-3 zone and maybe even some 1-3-1. As for matching up. St. Henry knows from experience Villa has a few other shooters on the perimeter but they aren't really going to hurt you down low. I think you'll see Anderson, Hils, Swikert guarding Bryan the most. Speed some but doubtful, because they'll want to keep him fresh on offense. I don't think people from St. Henry and from other teams realize how good of defender Joey Swikert has been the past two years. Possibly the best at St. Henry since Ross Czarnik. Look for him to be all over Bryan.

The NKAC has nothing to do with KHSAA. If Beechwood boys would want to move out of the conferece to play a tougher schedule I find it hard to believe the NKAC wouldn't allow it just because the girls aren't ready. I would think if the girls want to stay in the D-3 conference they could. If this is true and they can't get out of D-3 because of the girls not being ready then I agree with EQUUS GREVYI that its a dumb rule they have to play them each twice.

One thing I know about Coach Faust is he doesn't look at it like "leading his team to VICTORY". He takes that as a compliment I'm sure, but this is a team of 8 seniors. When he has had a large amount of seniors in the past his teams have done pretty well. He expects those seniors to be prepared and have the experience needed to "lead the Cru to victory".

How many straight regionals has Dixie made it too? Congrats on the win.

It was a prep school I believe. Bryan Turnage of HC went there after his high school career ended. He was a very nice player. They also had some 7footers from another country. Believed they played schools like Harmony Prep.
