From what I've heard the 7th Grade Knights team (Moeves) made the choice not to play in the tournament. What was that reason? I've heard some pretty entertaining excuses.

This play happened so fast and was such a great hustle play it was really hard to tell when the ball hit the backboard. The St Henry player, I believe was Barnett was going hard at the basket and really never slowed down as he went to lay it in.............but out of NOWHERE came Foster to get his hands on the ball. I seriously could not tell if it was a block or a goal tend, it happened so FAST! I don't know if the refs could tell either, and in that instance I think they made the right call or should I say NO CALL.

Good game tonight. St. Henry fell behind by 10 early and never could get back in it. The better team won. Newport has a really good chance to win this ALL A 9th Region and is the type of team who can do damage in Richmond.

This is incorrect the Jets will not be in the 2nd session due to school ball and other conflicts. They will be traveling to a few tournaments and continue playing and practicing together preparing for the State Tournament in late April. U14 NKY Knights were part of the tournament and beat by the Jets twice this season, unless there are 2 U14 NKY KNIGHTS squads your speaking of.

Considered they haven't been considered a top 10 ranked team in the region all season long......Id say beating CovCath and Boone Co is overachieving. But to answer your question.....I guess as soon as teams realize they are one of areas tough teams to beat, then they won't be overachieving. Its all due to perception. But I agree....with coach faust and his hard working players every year.......this program is always good or better.

Yes it sounds like Grey, Blessed Sac, and St Agnes has the top team in NKY from what I've heard.

I haven't seen Newport this year, but from what I see of scores and hear about this team they sound pretty good. A few people I know have said this is Newport's Tournament to win this year. I think its going to be a tough game for the Crusaders, but I agree if they play like they have against Boone and CovCath.....they can will win.

This is correct. There might be a few headed elsewhere but majority will attend Boone and St. Henry.

Jets won the championship game by 3. They came all the way through the losers bracket after losing to the Rockets in game 1. Finished the season 3-2 vs the Rocekts. A great rivalry has evolved. 8th Grade division tournament. Jets lost to Rockets first round of the double elimination tournament. Jets won 4 games today in the losers bracket to get to the championship vs Rockets tomorrow at 830am. Jets had to beat Gators @ 830am today, then Warriors at 3pm, then 8th Grade Knights at 720pm, then first finals game vs Rockets @830pm. St Henry is already 1-1 after beating Lloyd and losing to Dixie. I think this team has potential to give St. Henry some trouble but I really don't see Villa beating the Crusaders at home. Confidence will be high and players might even try to do too much. But if the Cru sticks with the game plan and listens to Coach Faust.....St henry wins by 20+

I whitnessed this last year during regionals. Parents yelling at coach on who should be in and who shouldn't be in. I think its a shame many Boone Co. players and parents don't realize what a great coach they have in Coach McQuery.

I wasn't able to attend last night but I spoke with some people after the game who were very impressed with this St. Henry's Cru. Great win guys! Glad to see the boys getting some solid wins for the hard work they put in. With that said, I've seen this St. Henry develop over the past few years. And I can tell you one thing, the senior leadership they have is going to make sure they give 110% in every game and every practice. I've seen them scrimmage and practice a few times this year and from JV to Varsity these guys really get after it, and really get after each other. Thats why they are prepared to play in big games like CovCath, Boone, and hang around with Holmes. Hardest working St. Henry team I've seen in some time. 1) Brian Carroll-Had a tough start to the season with some issues earlier. But this kid has done nothing but work his butt off and is impressing everyone who sees him play He's done a great job the past few weeks and makes St. Henry a threat against almost anyone. In my opinion he's the most underrated palyer in the area, and out to prove everyone wrong. Keep up the great work young man! 2) Zach Barnett-Seems to be much more comfortable in the offense. He's found his role. Uses his speed well on defense getting steals and deflections. Hasn't been forcing 3's but making them when he's called upon. 3) Hils and Anderson staying on the floor. Hils and Anderson are great leaders for this squad. Hils is basically a 2nd coach out there. Anderson brings great defense but is a outside and inside threat. 4) Bessler's-There can't be a more athletic and faster kid in the region right? He makes me tired just watching him. Then to add to it, he's got a pretty good mid range game. 5) Gulla, Thorburn, Seified, Tobertge, Dedden, Patula, Jordan all contributing and getting better each game. agreed and all are great role players for this squad.

I might have missed something in the past few weeks or even months. But where is transfer from Conner? His name is slipping my mind at this moment but he was a very good player for Conner last year. It just hit me the other day that I haven't heard anything about him.....is he eligible?

I don't if I realized or was just reminded tonight of how great Ricardo Johnson is. He is well deserving of his D-1 scholarship. But if anything he should be going to a higher level school than OHIO U. Between him and Seibert, I was more impressed with Rico. His clutch shooting. His outside shooting. His driving to the basket. His defense. Almost every aspect of his game tonight was better than one of the nations best. Now I understand Seibert had a tough game last night also and could have been a bit tired. But Ricardo play calm. Seibert seemed to rush his shots. Seiberts seemed to rely on the 3pt shot when he was in trouble. Ricardo showed tonight, why he will win Mr Basketball and why he has led this Holmes team to 2 straight State Finals and 1 championship.

Just watched it again. Clock didn't start at 1:18. Ricardo went up the floor drove to the whole and scored with a foul. The clock then started to run to 1:15 after the whistle, like the scorer was trying to make up for the mistake. Then it stopped. Then they put 1:18 back on the clock when Ricardo went to the line. I checked counted 8secs ran off from the time Ricardo got the ball till the time the foul was called. Either way I don't think it was the problem for Princeton. They got careless and threw the ball away way to often. They let Holmes hang around. Missed a lot of free throws and barely snuck away with a win. Good game by both teams.

Yeah speed might be a little questionable. But I guess there was a tad bit of home cookin going on from me. Loved to watch him play. Very good shooter and led his team to a 33rd and 34th District title in both his years as a starter.

No, big man Mike Schmidt was the player who injured his knee in that game.
