That's a good suggestion, but won't happen. The schools need to promote baseball more to the students. Announce games on the days that they have them and encourage the students to attend. I know for a fact that some teachers will give points to go to football and basketball games. They can do the same for baseball and softball. It's going to take an effort by parents, students, and school administration to get people to the game. I have even suggested that we have promotions similar to the minor league teams. Nothing as extravagent, but along the same lines. Have parents of young kids (4-8) to come to the game so that the kids could run the bases before games, meet the players, or throw with the boys.

Yea, I know what you mean. The district tourney is being held at Knott. The boys were practising Saturday and were asked to get of the floor so the teams could practice.

It doesn't look good. Rain, snow, and some very cold temps for this week.

There is no rerun scheduled that I can find. It may come out on DVD. It was a 2 hour documentery and very informative.

Actually, this was about African Americans and sports. It has some interesting history. The 1st half hour was devoted baseball. It wasn't just about why a lot African Americans aren't playing baseball, but how to get it back into the communities.

I agree weather is a factor. Too bad they can't have the season to start in August.

Runner at 3rd and a squeeze play is on. The batter bunts the ball in fair territory but it stays close to home plate (in fact bounces on home plate). The runner slides home and hits the ball. What's the call?

Normally, I would put E7, strike (depending on the strike count). The catch is an out, if caught. So, if not caught it's an error.

Batter hits a long fly ball down the left field line, F7 catches the ball while his feet are completly in fair territory and the ball is clearly in foul territory, is this is a foul ball? Yes or no? Being a catch and an out is not in question, we all know it's an out.

Our guys have to wait until Monday. With Knott being out of school because of the flu, coach felt that Monday would be better. The boys are getting together at the gym.

I have seen it called the way I explained. Runner would be out due to a throwout and the run counts. The hands are considered an extension, so to speak, of the bat. This very thing happened in a game last season. And that is how the ump explained it. No dead ball.

Haven't heard from the coach. So, I'm assuming that they aren't. Maybe Saturday. Still don't know.
