"Lloyd fan" on a Cincy radio station today bashing Belfry...
Of the first 6 items that theguru listed, only #6 sounds like it might have some validity. The rest sound like whining.

HOLMES
Participation is the number 1 problem at Holmes, followed closely by discipline and eligibility. But from what I understand, participation is hurting many schools in various sports.

CovCath vs. Holmes Predictions
Great point. Does this help Holmes' bench get a little deeper?

CovCath vs. Holmes Predictions
 CCH takes the lead early and never looks back. Holmes wears out and gets tired early in the game. Frustration sets in and they are unable to rally. Districts will be a dfferent story.

Good point. This thread is about the game, not the suspensions.

Ludlow 61 St. Francis 5
Gotcha. I wasn't questioning the score run-up. I understand that. My only question was how could they have only scored 5 points. Seemed incredible to me, especially when people are saying that Ludlow took it easy on them. I know St. Francis is really bad, but why enter a tournament when you're that bad? BTW, I have no problem with a coach letting his/her team go full bore the whole game. Substitute and let your bench warmers go at it. Ludlow had 13 players with points.

Holmes Turmoil....again
When these guys were sophomores, I would have predicted at least one state championship for them before graduation if they got the right big man. These last two seasons have been one of the biggest sports disappointments that I can recall. So much talent, so little team.

Holmes Turmoil....again
9. No discussion of ANY criminal behavior (charged or uncharged) in the high school forums. Discussion of adult criminal behavior is permitted in all non-high school forums. However, discussion of criminal behavior by juveniles (anyone under 18) is never permitted anywhere on BGP.

Yes. Circumstances may not be discussed on BGP. See rule #9.

Ludlow 61 St. Francis 5
I think you have to look at how many points St. Francis scored, not how many were scored against them. The lowest number of points they've scored this season is 21 against Nelson County. Sounds like Ludlow played them tough on defense the whole game.

Scrimmaging against boys
:thumb: The only schools I could see having issue with this are those that have no boy teams. :sssh:

Scrimmaging against boys
It's a stupid rule. The scrimmage rule should only be used when practicing against players from other schools.

9th Region Top 10
I'm not so sure about this. Because even with Jefferson they still managed to unravel last year. They get my #1 vote for team with most potential, team with most talent, and team most likely to self-destruct. They sure do miss Lexie.

Weight Lifting Injury
I saw a brief report on the news last night that talked about high school kids doing heavy lifting and what a health problem it was becoming. These kids are still growing and need to be supervised in their lifting by someone how understands muscular-skeletal systems of young adults. And the weight room needs to be locked up when that person isn't in there. A group of young men and a pile of weights, someone's going to get hurt.

Interview questions?
"Your running sprints near the end of a summer practice. One of your players, who doesn't give 100% to start with, comes up to you and says he's not feeling well. What do you do?"

Officials Taking Over Ballgames
While I think games at all levels and all sports are being overofficiated, I don't think that its originating with the game officials. There's been a lot of rule changes and "emphasis" the past few years that have forced official to call more fouls, penalties, etc. Several years back, I don't think you would have seen some of these calls being made.

Football and Other Sports
Best thing to do is play football and wrestle. Less likely to get a basketball joint injury and helps your players learn to manipulate other players bodies to your advantage.
