The debris is going to fall on the field either way. From where that monster sits...its going to be cooled off by the time it hits the field in either fashion. I just hate to lose the good ole days of watching the people jump out of their skin on that first shot! We (my daughter anyway) have Marlins practice on Fridays but grandma brings the yougin up to meet us. And no, I have never been able to understand why 'The House' is open on game night. I guess with a volunteer staff at least the arent out anything but seems like Saturdays (oh by the way...just like the other two schools) is the way to go.

OK, so I understand the whole safer issue. But...at least elevate it on the roof so that it can be pointed more toward the crowd. The lack of punch is pretty pathetic. and Henry...who doesnt go to the games?

Unfortunately I have to agree...what cannon?!? After moving the thing to the roof top, the fans are less than pleased with the sound. It fires directly over us now...not at us. So much is lost, not a good thing IMO.

No doubt! I was stunned to see the new light poles sitting on the sidelines when we headed to the Valley for our last 5/6 game of the year!

Noticed the same thing about the South endzone. I am sure they will slap another coat on before the next home game. Overall though...looks great!! And by the way, it sure is nice to be able to hear the annoucer during the game. Those old cabinets on the poles had seen better days, thats for sure! Now if we could just get some better recordings for the dance team to perform to...we would be all set. We have a nice new system, and the recording sounded like it was made on a 19 dollar radio shack cassette recorder.

Silver, I would have to agree. What the heck were those stupid things. At one point...we turned around to talk to the folks behind us about them and noticed EVERYONE in the stands either swatting, waiving or just leaving. It was just like looking at a scene from a movie! My wife had enough...she said, Im going to the car...I will see you later!! LOL.

I just get a kick out of this every week. It seems as though our "talent pool" that every one keeps mentioning has gotten smaller(in physical size) over the last several years. We all know what the line looked like for Jared and Gino, but since Gino things have been much smaller on the O line. I say I get a kick out of this because whether you look at the size of the goal line D for Dixie, or the size of the Trotwood lines...our lines are just handling whatever comes their way. I have to give major props to these guys, players and coaches. It just goes to show you that size is only part of the equation, technique is what these boys are using as the major advantage and just blowing people off the ball. Well done players, coaches, everyone!

What an outstanding game to watch! It was a great feeling walking out of a big venue on Labor Day weekend with a win under our belts! Congratulations boys, this one was HUGE. Couple of things that stood out to me. 1.) Bathiany...what can you say? Only one kickoff that didnt make it to the endzone and the coverage was good enough to stop the return at the 21. 2.) Defensive goal line stand at the 1. To be able to put that O line on their heels over and over again was flat out impressive. 3.) O line play was stellar on the run offense. Once again, bigger guys on the D line and on almost every play of the game they were stood straight up and pushed backwards. 4.) I have watched him play now for several years and in my opinion Collinsworth became a MAN last night. Blowing up at least two plays in the back field and then with rockets on his shoes tracked down the long pass play and got the tackle on about the 1 yard. That play was called back on a penalty anyway, but the speed was very impressive! If you missed this one live, you missed a monster. Excellent TEAM win guys, we look forward to many more this season!!!

With the kid from CCH, once they pass mid field they are in range. I can honestly say I have never seen anyone like him at this level. Before anyone jumps on that...I have not seen BG in several years either, so not taking anything away from their K. If it had not been for several 50+ yarders at HHS in the first game, it would have resulted in a different outcome.

Congratulations to CCH. I know I will be pulling for you on the rest of the way to bring home the title!! As for HHS, and I saw a mention of this previously, where is the 7-10 yard pass? These 45 yard shots at the big hitter are great against teams that cannot match up with the speedy receivers. However, CCH had great coverage most of the time. Our running game speaks for itself, but when it comes to the passing game, we are fairly predictable. There were several big plays that had Kramer coming out of the backfield for an 8 yard pass that turned into big gains in previous games. With his wheels and turn on a dime ability, they needed to find a different way to keep him in the game plan as CCH keyed on his running ability. As for the special teams for CCH, WOW. Kicker and punter were amazing. I understand wanting to hit everything, but you cannot hang your head on those misses. He is attempting kicks that some NFL'ers wouldn't get a shot at in that weather. He has an amazing future, no doubt! Bird seniors, good luck in all future endeavors! Those returning, remember the feelings of going home early this year and bring it with you next year. Bring home 17 in 07!

I will be there. This is the playoffs boys, I dont think....at least I cant imagine that we will be overlooking anyone at this point no matter who we would play next week. Go Birds!
