Couldnt agree more. That was absolutely critical to keep the train rolling. Birdsfan...you havent heard his name much because of the freight train running game. When you move the ball 7-9 yards a down, that passing game tends to take a back seat.

I read through this entire thread, but I might have missed it...Is 29 going to be OK? Whatever took place, it appeared he was in pretty good pain after being brought off the field. After that thing of beauty at the half, and the way he played all year, I certainly wish him the best in his recovery.

Choose to believe what you will, I could care less. I do believe HHS will win, but that does not mean that I think BG is 'going to fumble' anything away. If they do, all the better for us. However, from the true HHS fans I have seen on here, none of them have disrespected your team. If you have made it this far, you are a worthy opponent. Our coaches and team will tell you the same thing. To your other point, if our boys lose...we know they have left everything on that carpet. They will be welcomed with open arms and congratulated on their game, season, careers as HS football players and well respected men in our community! The state championship is expected every year. I believe every one of those young men would tell you however, if it does not happen the community supports them just the same.

I know there have been some good athletes go through Newport, but Steve Kowolenek might have been the best all round athlete I have ever seen. It didnt matter the sport, he was a stud on every surface, hardwood, turf, or the diamond!

If I am wrong, you can certainly correct me here. I do believe his comment was in response to a statement of 'we' would rather win a big game against Ohio than to win a championship. I do not think anyone has belittled the BG team, as a matter of fact I am pretty sure that everyone has talked about what a great season they have had and what a great opponent they will be this Friday.

Well Birdsfan has put me up to this so I guess it needs to be done here. There was quite a nice little meeting of the BGP allstars before the game started in BF's luxury box. Since no one else could remember, I am stuck listing all attendees: Birdsfan FTBIGBIRD TaterSalad TaterTot - popped his head in for a second Mr. Network ckyfootball (I believe that was the whole name, sorry maybe my memory is slipping as well) I think that was it...besides myself of course. Game - WOW, this should have been much worse than it was. From the first defensive stand, it was over. Great season Lincoln, keep your heads high...I believe you are going to have lost to the eventual winner this year. See y'all in the 'Ville in one week!

Nicely done and by the way...just like some others have stated, we respect everyone that comes to play the game. LCC might be young (depending on how you look at things) but you dont make it this far without doing something right!
