Field Improvements at Highlands

Featured Replies

Just wanted to say how cool the recent editions to the environs at David Cecil Memorial Stadium look!

There is a nice new sign over the entrance, with plenty of space left for more numbers. ;) There's a very large photo of this year's team on the front of the garage building you pass by on your way in. And the most noticeable of all was the big "HIGHLANDS" painted in the near end zone. I could see the other end zone painted as well. I assume it said the same thing.

Anyway, just wanted to let all that were responsible know that these additions were noticed, and got a warm reaction from the fans!

One thing I better mention while I have the floor. I had the good fortune to spend the game with a very nice couple, who have some sons who I just happen to know are well respected members of the BGP Bluebird delegation. Well, I was shocked to hear that this lovely lady is being silenced by her mean ol' sons -- while they post happily away. I told her she shouldn't listen to you guys, and she should go right ahead and post on here if she wants to! :p:D;)

^ You should also mention how you were lucky enough to watch the game in my presence. :D

And the presence of BigColonel and Kentuckyblue. They were very nice to put up with some very un-Cov Cath remarks from a few of our more "intense" fans over there. ;)

Oh, and Hi #56's dad! Great to see him in there doing a great job, despite being banged up pretty good. :thumb:

Keep in mind Birdsfan rule #145 - "dont open up that can of worms".

I personally also know this situation and I quite honestly dont think that BGP is ready for that "lovely lady". But you know after seeing some of the comments on here I think she would fit right in. :scared:

I also heard a lot of good feed back on the improvements. It's all really done for the kids.:D Oh yeah, on the "lovely lady", I have to agree with Sweep, lets don't get that one started. One comparison to a celeb is one too many!

I was amazed at how often I heard "CovCath" mentioned in the 2+ quarters I was at the game.

Imagine that! :D

I think the reason you hear the talk is Highlands knows there is only one team that stands in their path in NKY. Whether the comments were good or bad it is a form of respect in a weird kind of way. I would imagine that "The team from Ft. Thomas" gets their share of shouts all year in Park Hills.

Nice to hear about the improvements. I was wondering when they were going to fill that green filled endzone with something cool. I hear the H in the middle of the field is pretty nice also.

Its the only team you hear mentioned in Park Hills.

Back to the improvements. The one thing that seemed odd or out of place is that the "HIGHLANDS" in the end zone by the lockerrooms needs a fresh coat of paint. The rest were bright but it was faded.

I've always said that HHS has one of the best environments for high school football. I love the stands being tall and right on top of the field. I love the school surrounding 2 sides. Nice and intimate.

Unfortunately, an unexpected rain came up as they were finishing the project. That's why the one endzone faded out a little.
