What are they going to do with all of the signs that cover the back of Highlands High School. Eventually all of the signs will have to come down due to the High School renovation. For someone who doesn't know the story behind the Signs, it is a trade off for the Coporate Sponsors who generously donated large sums of money to get the field turf installed. Hopefully whoever is involved has some kind of plan to provide something for these Companies to withhold the Football field side of it's deal, so that bridges won't be burned for future needs.

I always have liked the hostile environment of Highlands. Now it's almost dominating. I saw the field when it was still in process this summer but man it sounds like its a amazing can't wait to see it.

I'd like to add a few more names to the list; Ted Abner, Mick Abner , Bill Jurgens, Mark Ball, Jack Hurtt, Tom Cecil, John Beck,Mark Bardo, and I know there will be more that I have forgotten. This type of committment is what makes Highland's so special!

 

There were a lot more people involved over the last 4 years,:thumb: to up keep and improve the stadium and its surroundings. I can tell you that it is mostly the same people year in and year out.

Good job to all the volunteers who put their time and money into the facilities. If it isn't for the volunteers then the school would look horrible. Now maybe the school itself will take better care of the grounds then they have in the past.

I heard a couple of bridges might of burned beyond repair Friday Night at Highlands. It should be interesting to see if the people in charge can repair these two much needed relationships in time. Or maybe the people in charge just don't care which wouldn't surprise me!!

Kind of a wreckless statement isn't it? There is only one sign that I know of that had to come down for the school renovation. I am confident that something will be worked out with the sponsor by the time the renovation is completed. Not sure of any other signs that were removed during the renovation.

My first, and only time at Highland's Stadium was when the Birds hosted Mason County in the State Semi's a few years back. I personally liked what I saw. Of course there were 2 pretty dag gone good football teams playing that night and the light snow falling only added to the aura, but I left thinking that Highlands had a unique place to play football.

 

Of course the signage on the school was a suprise, but in my mind it was there for money the that was put into the program.

 

Heck, maybe my Tomcats can get the chance to play there and see that Highland's home field is as unique and special as I think it is....
