Noticed the same thing about the South endzone. I am sure they will slap another coat on before the next home game. Overall though...looks great!! And by the way, it sure is nice to be able to hear the annoucer during the game. Those old cabinets on the poles had seen better days, thats for sure! Now if we could just get some better recordings for the dance team to perform to...we would be all set. We have a nice new system, and the recording sounded like it was made on a 19 dollar radio shack cassette recorder.

Unfortunately, an unexpected rain came up as they were finishing the project. That's why the one endzone faded out a little.

Yeah, it's nice to finally be able to hear the announcer over on our side of the field. I heard some talk that a new and (more) improved sound system may be on the way.

Does anyone have any pictures of the improvements to the field? Seeing how i don't get out to highlands much i'd like to see what it looks like with the endzones painted!

Special mention to Dave Simons, Jim Abner, Doug Merkle, Jimmy Cutter, Steve Roller, Jeff Schlosser, et al for their time and talents in tackling the "harder" projects. Even saw a player's GRANDFATHER hauling stone to build a retaining wall! Moms were present and hard-working, too! OUTSTANDING support by OUTSTANDING individuals! I'd like to add a few more names to the list; Ted Abner, Mick Abner , Bill Jurgens, Mark Ball, Jack Hurtt, Tom Cecil, John Beck,Mark Bardo, and I know there will be more that I have forgotten. This type of committment is what makes Highland's so special!

Two of us were up there this morning painting the Highlands in the south endzone and guess what - it started raining buckets as we finished the 2nd "h" in HIGHLANDS. Did not have the heart to look behind us to see if the paint faded during the rain fall.

 

Hasn't rained all Summer and now it rains whenever the Highland Blue comes out of the shed! Will try again this evening...

 

BTW, didn't get bit by one No-Seeum. The mating season must be over.
