I think you would have to look at winning percentage but not base it on that solely. Never did anything to speak of at Holmes. But, it is not as if Conner, is a program on top looking down on others, either. Having said that, I believe there is tons of potential there, just waiting to be tapped by the right person. I hope he does not bring the "youth league" style offense he ran at Holmes or the Boone style ,being a Boone grad, with him. Getting someone from Boone could be a good thing.:thumb: :thumb:

Boone will press in the first half of this game and not wait until the 4th qtr. Bradley will take care of the ball better in this game and limit her first half turnovers that hurt them in the first game. Behrens is now settling in with the rest of the team and they are getting better because of it. Seem to be focused in more after the Coach took their cell-phones away in Tenn.:thumb: To much use of their bench will wear NDA down. NDA will not make any adjustments from the last meeting. Will still try to pound it inside. Which is where their strength is, but if you take that away from them they don't know how to react(at least it would seem that way). Tierney won't match last games performance all year let alone against the Lady Rebels. Boone by 10 to 15.

^ I think she is the one that every opposing coach hopes handles the ball. No surprise that Boone won! I think Fookes was trying to not press during the game. I think she only went to it towards the end to win the game. I bet if you would have asked her at the beginning if she would need to use the press to win she would have said no. But she made the adjustment to get the victory. IMO she did not want to press NDA this game but use it later on in the season when they meet again. She also started off the gameby playing the post players 1 on 1 but after the 1st qtr. noticed it was not working so well. She then switched to fronting the post with guards dropping down on the helpside. The same game plan they used in the regional finals last year, forcing NDA to shoot outside. NDA's coach lack of adjusting to theBoone defense taking away the entry to the post was big. Darpel's refusal to go past 6 players critical. Staying with the "big" lineup while Boone was pressing not very smart. Boone will win by double digits next time they play. Even though it was a big 1 vs. 2 match-up Fookes used it to prepare her team for March as evidenced with her liberal substituting thru out the game.That will only make them better as the season goes along.

I think Boone being 3-2 is a mild surprise. Thought they would beat one of the two between Manual and Henry Clay. But I think Coach Fookes will have them really hard to beat come Rregional time.

I never thought of next season, in regards to the scheduling. That is pretty smart on their part, or to quote a popular commercial "BRILLIANT!!". :thumb:

Never sayed they should be scared of anyone. And yes Fookes knows excactly what she is doing with the schedule. Playing a pressing team like HC on the road will only make them better. How about the refs in that game, calling a foul on #12 when it was obviously on #40. Or calling fouls on players not even on the floor.

I think there is one team they are worried about, hitting shots or not.

It just shows how talented this Boone team is, Lakota West is definetly one of the top teams in Ohio.

(transfered to Boone) Klei and Sneed are the only 2 from this list that would get any signifigant playing time if they played for Boone. Once again loaded, loaded and loaded is how you descibe Boone this year. When they beat Lex Cath in the holiday tournament in Tenn. people will then know how talented they are.

Is this seasons Boone County Rebels the best team ever in the 9th Region. They have 4 out the top 10 rated players in the region. Maybe their are other teams that I do not recall that were better. I know it is only the start of the season, but they are loaded. Throw in the best coach in the region, wow.

There are only a small handfull of coach's who can come close to matching his success. Those are all still with their high school teams, except one he now is an asst. at UK. His record more than speaks for itself. Who out there is better qualified? None that I know of. Having said all of that, I am still not confident Blevins will go outside of the current staff to fill the position.

If I am reading between the . . . . . corerectly I am excited, for that!! Now, I hope that HE is the next coach at Conner!!!

Just went to the KHSAA website and the Conner job is not even posted. Does this mean anything? Why wouldn't the Principal post it? The Principal used to be a teacher at Beechwood, a long time ago. But, was told he is definetly not a football guy.

Hey we could have the rest of the teams just play bowls games you get to pick your match-up. I would like to see Ryle vs. Trinity in the "Gold Star Chili Bowl". The winner could chant we are #3. My back-up games if I can't get those 2 to agree on which invite they would accept. Are HC vs. Ryle, HC vs. Henderson County, or Trinity vs. Henderson. The battle for THIRD best!:thumb: My bad I guess there would have to be a third place tie between the 2 bowl game winners. Darn I almost had it figured out.Sorry!

Both would be good fits. Each bringing a winners experience. But if Yeagle applys and he does not get it and someone who is unproven does. I would wonder what direction the Principal has in mind, if any. Yeagle's name alone would energize a stagnant program.
