  1. A very good game by both teams tonight. Boone led 1-0 going into the 6th inning. Bottom of the 6th Conner scored 2 runs on a single to go up 2-1. In the top of the 7th Rathert singled in a run to tie the game. Farris singled in the go ahead run to put Boone up 3-2. In the bottom of the 7th one runner on, Dietz gets a K, then a sac bunt, hit batter and then a K to end the game. Dietz got the win and Harkins the lose. Harkins was tough. Both pitched a great game. Both teams came to play in their first District game. Dietz had 11 K's and Harkins had 9 K's.
  2. Not that one hit matters, but Boone had 4 hits. Ryle played better. Ryle had hitters up and down the lineup. Boone has to have more than 4 players hitting when playing solid teams. Boone has to come out and play consistant baseball game after game. They have not found that yet in the 9 games played.
  3. Boone Co charges $3 for adults and $1 for students. For baseball this is how most teams pay the umpires. There is not much of a budget for baseball at most schools. You have to raise it or get it at the gate.
  4. Correct! Many of Boone's skill players will be Junior's.
  5. Boone Co - QB - Shawn Bogle should turn some heads this season. He is very athletic and has a very strong arm. He is quick and has speed. Shawn should have a nice group of receivers to throw to this season. It took Boone a little while to gel and fit into the skilled postions last year. With Bogle having a 1/2 year of season and playoff games, I think he will be ready to make some noise in NKY. Shawn should give Bleser, DJ and Bricking all the competition they will want.
  6. :thumb: :thumb: If you can't take criticisim on off days, then you are playing the wrong game. If the players had an off day, then why suger-coat it!
  7. This tournament includes Cov Cath, Ryle, St. Henry and Boone Co. Does anyone know the game schedule and times? Varsity plays at Cov Cath and JV plays at Boone Co.
  8. Go past the old Campbell Co High School on the left out 27. Go to the next intersection/light to Main St. National City Bank is on the corner. Going south on 27, turn left. The school is not far after turning on Main St. The baseball field is behind St. Mary's Elementary school. I hope these are correct. I got them from someone who's children go to St. Mary's.
  9. The rainout from 3/31 has been rescheduled to Today - 4/5, 5:00PM @ Bishop Brossart.
  10. JR-Brad Krohman pitched another nice game for Boone. Krohman had a 2 run single in the 4th. Boone broke out a 9 run 4th inning. Soph-Farris was 2-3 with a 2B, 3B and 5 RBIs. SR-Bagby and SR-Dietz both had 2Bs. Otis started for Dixie.
  11. Apollo 54-51 3.8 to go. Apollo at the free throw line.
  12. Boone Co. Andy Dietz - Sr Brad Krohman - Jr Kurt Kordenbrock - JR ??? There are others, but I do not know past these 4.
  13. Boone County - QB - Shawn Bogle could have a breakout year. Shawn moved to QB about midway through his sophomore year and Farris moved to full time RB. Shawn is very athletic and has a very strong arm. He plans to attend at least one QB camp and will be working hard during spring football. If Shawn focuses and works hard during the spring and summer, the sky is the limit. This young man has a lot of potential and could be one of the best if he works to achieve his full potential.
  14. Does anyone know what districts will be matched for the 9th region tournament, 1's will play 2's, but what districts will play each other? I couldn't find any bracket info.
  15. Champs05, I have to agree. It will be interesting to see how Cory develops this year. I'm sure a lot are not sold on him because he is still very young. He still has a lot to learn but plays well above his age. He was one of Boone's leading hitters. Cory is a very quite person. He is not one to say much about his performance good or bad. He just likes to play. Here are a few stats I was able to get from last year for Boone and Royals-18 summer team. 60yd - 6.74, C-pop - Consistent 1.98-2.1 best 1.93 Boone: 122(AB) .377(Avg) 34® 46(H) 9(2B) 3(3B) 6(HR) 34(RBI) 11(BB) 23(K) 4(HP) 14(SB) 10 games w/Royals-18: 31(AB) .387(Avg ) 7® 12(H) 2(2B) 1(3B) 7(RBI) 3(BB) 5(K) 6(SB) 6(SBA)
  16. My son participated in the Showcase camp. It was organized and run to the letter. There were drills and instruction through out the day. An evaluation will be mailed to each participant with comments from the staff. College and pro-scouts represented the staff. Well worth the time and money.
  17. Lloyd played @ Boone this year. The Lloyd student behavior was very bad. The Boone administrators asked the coaches to keep the students under control and watch the some of the chants. The assistant coach basically ignored the request. No administrator from Lloyd could be found at this game. Or, he thought the behavior was OK. As a parent, I was upset at the direction of the chants. Boone had to have the police stand near the students to encourage decent behavior. But, unless you are breaking a law there really was not much the police could do. The police had to ask the students to not stand on the wall behind the benches once and the students took their towels and waved them at the police, like leave us alone. I have seen a lot of students try and mimic Cov Cath. The students should learn from Cov Cath and have fun, but do it with class!
  18. As you see in the quote, Thompson didn't say Louisville wasn't physical. Most Louisville teams throw and run more plays around the ends. Boone this year has run more up the middle. This is the physical style of play that was intended. Reading into what was said can always produce what you want it to sound like.
  19. Boone's coach did not say this. He mentioned that they wanted to be very physical with Ballard. Not that Louisville teams are not physical. I spoke with him this morning and he was trying to figure out where this all came from. Thompson has been around long enough to know that comments like this are not said by coaches.
  20. Boone Co. Sophomore, Cory Farris, 6', 175 lbs., TB/QB Led Boone Co. to a Class 4A Playoff win 38-14 over #2 Ballard 26 carries for 314 yds 3 TDs - 2 TDs rushing (2 & 53 yds), 1 TD passing 31 yds 276 yds in the first half rushing yds Rotated quarters 3 & 4 with 2 other Boone Co. backs 1 solo tackle
