Hasbeen replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
The cool thing about H. S. football is that rankings mean nothing. It's all settled on the field.- 8 replies

Sorry, but I'll be at the game and we have no 3G in this area. I can't even keep track of other games much less post. -
Mercer County/Boyle County Predictions
Hasbeen replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
Games are important now and Boyle will be ready. Boyle 40-14. -
What more could you want? Both teams are undefeated. Both are ranked in everyones top ten. A district championship on the line. Hopes kept alive for the perfect season. Who you got?

Knox Central 47 Rockcastle County 14
Hasbeen replied to Hasbeen's topic in KY Football (High School)
Knox Centrals first ever 8-0 start to the season. Sets up a huge game next week with an also 8-0 Russell County for the district championship and a shot at an undefeated season. -
Uh, is this final? This sets up the big game next week. I think it was 50-0 at the half so obviously RC dominated. Is it true that Russell County's starting center was ejected late in the first half?
-
Bell returned the opening kickoff for a TD and it was all downhill from there. Corbin, after going more than ten years without a district loss will not have a home playoff game this year.
-
Rock scored first before Knox Central scored 47 unanswered points. Halftime lead was 40-7. Starters gave way to the reserves after scoring on the first series of second half. Sr. qb Devon Evans threw for 150 plus yards and three TDs.

3A #2 Bell County/Corbin Predictions
Hasbeen replied to Commander 25's topic in KY Football (High School)
Not really. That's been their problem all season. It's one reason they've lost so many close games. I think Bell will win but it won't be blowout some are predicting. -

Is Knox Central's Jeffrey Canady a Mr. Football Candidate?
Hasbeen replied to Hasbeen's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think you're right. But because of this thread, the Herald-Leader story, and the regional papers, he's better known than he was. -
Is Knox Central's Jeffrey Canady a Mr. Football Candidate?
Hasbeen replied to Hasbeen's topic in KY Football (High School)
Apparently Coach Russell agrees with you. "When Russell watches Canady, he sees a great athlete (who's also run track, and played basketball and baseball at Knox Central).Russell thinks Canady would be a strong candidate for Mr. Football if not for higher-profile stars such as James Quick of Trinity, Ryan Timmons of Franklin County and Kyle Bolin of Lexington Catholic." I recall back in 2003 when Knox Central was at their lowest in the process of an 0-10 season, I asked one of the seniors why he continued to put himself through the misery of it all. Why not just quit like so many of his teammates had? I'll never forget what he told me. "I stay for the guy who lines up beside me. As long as I have one teammate who stays, I've got his back." Many people disrespect a losing football team. I have all the respect in the world for those who tough it out. It's the main reason I'm so against running up the score on weak opponents. In many cases those kids work just as hard as anyone but lose because of weaknesses inside the program.

So of what use are Pitbulls? I'm pretty sure that any worthwhile trait they may have can be found in another breed minus the generations of breeding for agression and tenacity.
-
Corbin may be one of the most snakebitten teams I've ever seen. It's as if they can play with almost anyone yet can beat almost no one. They are just a hair from being unbeaten and a hair from being winless.

Or Knox Central? Good win for JC. -
Tonight the longest of them all, 36 by Knott County, has ended with a 28-21 victory over Jenkins. Congrats Knott! Now start a win streak.

Rockcastle unfortunately is not the Rock of old. However, they play a tough schedule and are in a tough district.
