Boyle County/Knox Central Predictions
So you're baseing your prediction on Boyle's performance rather than what you know of KC. I can understand that. I'm pretty much doing the same thing.

Boyle County/Knox Central Predictions
No doubt tradition lies with Boyle with KC being a relative newbie albeit with two regional finals in the past 4 seasons.

Boyle County/Knox Central Predictions
I think home field will be an advantage but I also think KC is a hard team to prepare for. If one scouted the Rockcastle game, one would prepare a spread offense with 5 good receivers. Scout the Russell game and one sees an I backfield and a more balanced attack. Scout the Madison Central game and one sees a team that runs the power I and slugs it out. Different looks from a team that has the athletes to pull it off.

Boyle County/Knox Central Predictions
If I weren't such a homer I would have to pick Boyle also but I believe it will be close. Those who think Boyle will win by a large margin I'm interested in knowing what you base your opinion on.

Round 1 Upsets
And I equally repectfully disagree. Let's go to the prediction thread and discuss it.

Round 1 Upsets
Playing at home may be all the edge they need, but I think Boyle County has a dangerous first round game against Knox Central.

Knox Central 26 Madison Central 0
As far as I know, nothing changes.
-
Knox Central 26 Madison Central 0
4 Td night for Jeffrey Canady as the Panthers win on Senior Night to finish 7-3. I'm told MCHS held out their starting RB.
-
Madison Central/Knox Central Updates
Canady has his 4th TD and KC leads 26-0 very early in the 4th.
-
Madison Central/Knox Central Updates
Still 19-0 at the end of three. Panthers driving.
-
Harlan County/Bell County Updates
Really? I'm just outside of Barbourville and I can pick up Harlan 105.1 and Pineville 106.3.
-
Madison Central/Knox Central Updates
Canady goes 20 yards for his 3rd TD of the game. With 10 minutes still to go in the 3rd, KC 19 Mad So. 0.
-
Harlan County/Bell County Updates
I thought the wet field may be holding the score down but the radio says field was covered and in good shape.
-
Corbin/Harlan Updates
At the half, Corbin leads 7-0.
-
Madison Central/Knox Central Updates
Remains 12-0 at the half. Canady has both KC TDs.
-
Madison Central/Knox Central Updates
Late in the first half in the muck, Knox Central leads 12-0.

Rockcastle County 54 Clay County 12
I know of no other way to do it. I surely don't like the method where they add up points scored. That just encourages blowouts. I'm a KC fan and yes, it's disappointing but KC had the opportunity to control their own fate and came up a bit short. So be it. Really, I like playing Boyle in the first round. It's a good measuring stick of where our program is now. Would rather have played them at home...........

Madison Central / Knox Central predictions
Interesting to see how KC bounces back from Friday's disappointment.

Bell County/Harlan County Predictions
Yes, but this time all three come together to take a shot. I've always been an admirer of Coach Larkey and HC. I'd like to see them win this one and I believe they can.

Class 4A Run for State (Brackets Posted)
I think the fact that Johnson Central gave Highlands a competitive game last season lends at least some hope for some of the better contenders. Several would compare favorably to last season's JC team.

Class 4A - District 6 Tiebreaker
I never said anyone was happy with the schedule. I was attempting to explain why it is what it is. In reality, it was designed to be tougher than previous years. We went from a six team district to a four team so we had to replace McCreary Central and Madison Southern. We picked up Perry Central, Harlan County, and Madison Central (all 5A), to replace Williamsburg and Harlan Indep (1A). Pittman was expected to be better as was Clinton. No excuses. Just that it was expected to be tougher than it turned out.

Class 4A - District 6 Tiebreaker
No, Knox Central finishes with Madison Central. As for the "pathetic non-district schedule", they played two top BGP top ten 5A schools (Harlan Co. and Perry Central) but both were losses and thus don't count. Gatlinburg Pittman is normally a very good team but are down this year. One of the other Tenn. teams was a late addition when KC was scrambling to fill the date vacated when Bell dropped us after hiring Coach Mills. Clay Co. is a district opponent.

Russell County 28 Knox Central 22
Don't quote me, but I believe it's Rock, Russell, Knox in that order and yes, each has one loss. Russell beat Knox, Knox beat Rock, Rock beat Russell.

Harlan County/Perry County Central Updates
I listened to the final minutes of this game on the way home. Radio reception was too poor to be sure of the final score, but I do know it's final now and Harlan has won. I believe the last score Gold posted was the final.

Rockcastle County 54 Clay County 12
I'm not sure, but I believe Rockcastle has the tie-breaker advantage and is now the district champ. Congratulations.
