  1. Russell County comes out on top in a seesaw battle between two evenly matched teams.
  2. These two teams represent Knox Central's only losses this season. Perry seems to be sliding, Harlan getting even better. Harlan by 21.
  3. Knox Central is still a work in progress. Every game I see new pieces to the puzzle coming together. The offense has become very versatile capable of running the power I or the spread. Hard to prepare for. Russell has only one loss and that to a very good Rockcastle team on the road. Should be a great game. Winner gets a home playoff game, loser hits the road.
  4. Rockcastle has a good football team. Knox Central showed something Rock wasn't prepared for and by the time Rock adjusted at halftime it was too late. Second half was much closer.
  5. Harlan County's offense makes it appear that way. They are big, strong, and fast.
  6. Knox Central surprised Rockcastle by opening in a spread offense, often with 5 receivers. By jumping out to a big early lead they forced Rock to play catch up and get away from what they like to do. The KC defense did the rest. Make no mistake, Rockcastle is a good team and this was a big win.
  7. KC air attack was the difference in this one.
  8. Maybe they ran into a good team? Late in the 4th both teams score. KC 40 Rock 7.
  9. After 3 qtrs, Knox Central leads 33-0.
  10. KC displaying all the weapons tonight except the run. I don't think a Panther running back has touched the ball more than twice the whole first half.
  11. WYMT is reporting he is healthy and will play.
  12. I saw the Corbin/McCreary game and was actually impressed with MCC's talent. At the risk of setting up another attack by Heartbreaker, can someone in the know tell me why this team has not been able to take advantage of what they have this season? That big tight end could be an awesome weapon. The line has good size and they seem to have decent speed from the backs. Qb moves good but not very accurate. I though they played even to better than Corbin for three quarters.
  13. In the deep, dark hills of Eastern Kentucky That's the place that I traced my bloodlines. And it there that I read on a hillside gravestone, You'll never leave Harlan alive. Coolest intro I've ever heard for a team coming out to the field.
  14. 4chs is right. Corbin has a lot of young talent, some of which is beginning to move into the starting lineup. However, this is not a Corbin team that we've been used to seeing. They are at least a year away.
  15. Rock can wrap up a district title with a win. Knox Central, while a very good team, is still somewhat of a work in progress. When they get all the puzzle pieces in place, KC will be a very tough playoff draw for someone. Hopefully, Friday is the time it all comes together. The off week should have helped both teams get healthy. Knox Central 28-Rockcastle-20
  16. 46 in a row dating back to October, 2000.
  17. Very good win for Whitley. They seem to be turning their season around at just the right time.
  18. This is gonna be a fun district!
  19. Unable to confirm, but I'm hearing it's final, Harlan Co. 57-36.
  20. Corbin trailed 28-7 before going on a run.
  21. They're everything I expected when I first heard of the consolidation. The toughness of Evarts, the size of Cawood, and the athleticism of Cumberland. If you liked Coach Larkey's best teams during his heyday at Rockcastle, you'll love this Harlan County team. If a team that never throws can make it to the championship in this era, this is the team that can do it.
  22. I've just learned that big Cody Diamond, who anchors both Knox Central's offensive and defensive line as well as handling the place kicking duties, will be serving a two game suspension for an altercation that occurred in the final minute at Gatlinburg. This could have a huge bearing on this game.
  23. It wont be a high scoring game. I'll pick Knox Central 21-20.
  24. Knox Central finished the Tennessee portion of their schedule tonight with a win over Clinton. That makes them 3-0 against Tenn. competition this season.
  25. What amazes me is that this board shows far more interest in the other side of the river than to the South of I-64. Off topic, I know.
