Kentucky vs. Out-of-State Opponents

Featured Replies

Below are records of Kentucky schools against out-of-state opponents up to this point. There are a few out-of-state games that haven't been reported tonight so this can change.

-Canada (1 win-0 losses)

-Illinois (1-0)

-Indiana (6-6)

-Ohio (8-8)

-South Carolina (0-1)

-Tennessee (14-10)

-Virginia (3-0)

-West Virginia (1-1)

TOTALS

34 wins, 26 losses

I bet that winning % is much better than most years.

The 8-8 vs. the Buckeye State is especially encouraging.

Knox Central finished the Tennessee portion of their schedule tonight with a win over Clinton. That makes them 3-0 against Tenn. competition this season.

Canada???

Who and did they play Canadian rules?

SK still has to face Ironton and Highlands still has to play Elder.

Good information, and thanks for taking the time to compile it.

But, I contend it's not where you play, it's who you play. Even in almighty Ohio, you can find schools that can be bad with anyone.

Trinity also did the record plenty of favors with a 4-0 mark against Tenn. and Ohio combined thus far.

So the winning % against Ohio teams will stay at .500:p

As for the rexords vs.Ohio teams the pct. would be much lower in our area. Ashland beat Ironton last night but Ironton imo would have a huge lead over any and all of the Kentucky teams, especially in our area of NEKY,EKY. There are years in our area when a KY. teams may beat an Ohio team but they are few. I don't know what the numbers are in other areas but ours imo very low vs. Oho teams, even the smaller teams are just better. Raceland kost to a very small ohio school last night, were embarrassed 66-44 by a school that alot of people didn't know existed (Portsmouth East/Sciotoville Community??), we were even unsure of the name, at one point I believe the score was something like 40-8.

Good luck to any KY. team vs. any out of state teams. About that one state......uh, Canada, is that a state? Maybe it is one of those 56 states that our president was referring to. :idunno:. Sorry, I could'nt resit.

Johnson Central has played a team from Canada for 2 seasons now.

No, Moeller comes to Trinity in late October

Johnson Central has played a team from Canada for 2 seasons now.

Do they play Canadian rules? Larger field, 3 downs, 12 players etc.

From what I have read, the team that Johnson Central played was using the game as an exhibition for the regular season where they play the normal Canadian rules.

And of course, the game Johnson Central played was done so under American rules...if I'm not mistaken, even inside the United States, when you go to a different state, you have to play by that state's athletic association rules. An example of this is with schools from Texas' UIL (the main state association)...they play under college rules so when teams go into Texas or when Texas schools travel across the border, they have to make big adjustments in their game play.
