Knox Central 12 Harlan County 6

Featured Replies

KC is 6-0 for the first time in history. Coverage tonight included two TV channels and two radio stations. Never have I heard the word "slobberknocker" used so much in a two hour period. Great game!

I hope to get some stats later on tonight. Masterfull job by Coach Scottie Russell utilizing all his weapons tonight. HC was obvioiusly keying on Canady and Russell used rb Jonathon(the G man) Gist, qb Devon Evans on the keeper, and the recieving of wr Matthew Barger to move the ball downfield and eat up clock. The real stars tonight were the guys in the trenches on both sides of the line and on both teams.

Some are saying this is the biggest win in KC history. I'm not sure, gonna have to consider it.

An interesting footnote. KC head coach Scottie Russell and Harlan County defensive coordinator Ovie Canady were high school teammates at tiny Evarts High School in Harlan. They later were college roommates at Union College.

Knox County is for real. Be nice to see them get some love in the polls.

A little more love I mean. Huge win. Congrats Knox Central!!!

As an old Knox Central grad. This is definitely the biggest win I can remember in the schools history. Congrats ! :thumb:

I guess it is. I can't really think of a bigger one. I guess I prefer to think of it more as one more stepping stone, one more hurdle cleared.

One more thing to say before this one goes away.

Seriously, Knox Central, you made Harlan County your homecoming game?:idunno::lol:

Take a look at Knox Central as an example of staying the course. I remember just 5 or 6 years ago how they struggled to stay in games, and little by little they kept working. The last few years they have hit their stride. Teams who have or are considering doing away with football should use the handbook that these young men have used. Good work from all of the coaches who have been involved over this time period. HATS OFF!!!

Big win fior the Panthers.

Good win for KC. I look for a big matchup with Russell Co to decide the district and an undefeated season.
