The regular season tilt which likely determines the #1 seed in the district takes place next Friday at Lexington Catholic.

 

Boyle County is coming off of a 53-0 pasting of Taylor County and Lexington Catholic is coming off of a game of possum in a 34-16 win against Mercer County. These two rivals are very familiar with one another and always seem to have one of the best games of the season to watch for either team. Last season Lexington Catholic swept Boyle County and they are the favorite to win round 1 of this bitter rivalry. Much like St. X and Trinity this rivalry has hit twitter as well albeit at a lighter pace than that of the St. X/Trinity twitter war. The Knights looked susceptible to the run and Boyle will run, run and run some more. Because of that I'll take Boyle in another tight and classic game for the ages over Lexington Catholic.

I will go 28-14. The lowest I see LexCath scoring is 21 and most I see Boyle scoring is 21. So I will use that and add and subtract 1 TD either way.

Going just on memory the two have met in the playoffs in '98, '99, '00, '07, '08, '09, '10, '11. Boyle won the meetings in 5 of those seasons and the Knights took the other 3.

With Boyle County not being seen as a contender to win state there are less Boyle posters on here. Also with Highlands being in 4A and most people believing they have it won already games like Boyle/LexCath mean significantly less to a lot of people. I remember when this game would get a 150 post Prediction thread. Now, less people seem interested if Boyle or LexCath aren't seen as favorites to win state. Unfortunate, but true.

Hate that I am going to miss this game. The Bourbon Chase is this weekend and I start my first leg at 8:10pm in Washington County. Rebelstat I expect regular updates on my cell!!!!

The Knights like to blitz a lot to stop the run. The scary thing that Boyle has done well some many years is slipping the TE out to area vacated by the blitzing line backer.
