Lawrence County advances to 15th region championship. Jeff Cyrus pitched 3 plus. Roberts come in for relief in the 4th. Roberts had 8 strikeouts, with 2 unearned runs.

Shepard pitched a nice ball game for the dawgs. Lewis Michael is now pitching for Lawrence. Michael came in the top of the 4th and got 3 strikeouts. Lawrence County up 4-0 going into the bottom of 4.

Lawrence County is in a good position to advance to the state tournament. Should be a great tournament.

Cyrus pitched for LC. I cant remember who pitched for JC.

How does the rivals system work anyway? They have Darius Miller as a 4 star prospect while Hopspon is a 5 star prospect while everyone knows Miller is a much better player.

I was at the game and Belfry came out and played hard. Phelps didn't play very good team ball. There was a lot of forced shots by Phelps while Belfry always found the open man. Phelps players played extremely nervous in a game they could had won. I was extremely surprised by the fan support from Phelps. They had nearly twice as many fans as Belfry. I guess Belfry fans are primarily football fans.

96 Paintsville team could beat them. I have seen HHS play and they are extremely athletic. If they played the 96 team 10 times, HHS would win more times than they would lose. But the 96 Paintsville team could beat HHS on a given night.

I know Phelps suffered a tough loss to Belfry but this program seems to be headed in the right direction. Clay Campbell and Jason Sanson has done a great job with these guys. Jason Sanson is a great young coach and I look forward to watching Phelps progress while he is there. Sanson is very competitive and losing isn't something he takes lightly. Phelps might actually have a bright future.

Jason lives in Louisa and regrets a lot of decisions he made in school. You can put Spencer in there with Jason, but Spencer had a great qb to throw him the ball. Basically when Luke transferred to Boyd Co, Jason lost interest because LC had become a running team with no actual pass threat. I have talked to him numerous times about it. He just regrets giving up on the team and making bad decisions his senior year. He was a kid and hopefully he can learn from his mistakes. But he still has some priorities to straighten up before he can be successful.

Yeah, IF he can leave all the off the field problems alone he has a great chance to succeed at the next level.

Talking to Jason Spradlin today, and he plans to try out for Union in the near future. I am glad to see Spradlin going to play on the next level because he has all the talent to be a great WR. Gerad Parker and Jason Spradlin are the best two WR's LC has had. :ylsuper:

I know LC has a lot of young talent. I also know Goldsmith can put the pieces together. I miss having Tony Burchett around. I think that was a bigger loss than Chuke.

This was a great game. CCH has some great fans that can make some noise. I would like to attend a CCH home game. CCH went into the locker room at the half and made some adjustments. JC was 1 dimensional, and CCH took care of business.

Just curious what changes will be made to the program. I have HEARD coach Goldsmith will not be the coach next year. I have also HEARD that Chuke Williams is coming back. But the info I have is from a teacher at the school. This is just a rumor. I'm curious if anyone has any info on this.

Im not sure that Sheldon Clark will beat Belfry in the playoffs but I think it will be a much better game. Its way to early in the season to predict who is gonna win the region but Sheldon Clark has a better chance this year.

LC has to improve on defense drastically or Johnson Central will score 100 on them. Coach Goldsmith has always been known for coaching good defensive teams but over the past few years that hasnt been the case. LC is still a year or two away from making a run at the regional championship. I wish some of the guys wouldnt had transferred. Goldsmith needs to give his younger guys a lot of playing time this year, and work with them. Congrats to Sheldon Clark. They will have a better season this year.

I didn't actually say these guys turned their back on the program. I said "I feel" this way. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I over reacted. Although I find it hard to believe, if these kids are leaving for academic reasons I support their decision. I dont recall any LC football players leaving when they were having success. If anything, LC was taking kids away from the Johnson County programs. I also disagree with "once a dog always a dog". That will change when Dials puts on a Johnson Central uniform and when Humphrey puts on a Paintsville uniform. This stuff happens ocasionally, and LC will have to rebound. LC will rebound and become successful once again. I appreciate all the guys sticking with the program. Thanks for all your hard work.

Good Post Stick.... I do not understand why the parents and players do not have any patience. Humphrey is going to Paintsville? He will not get as much exposure at Paintsville. His success will be equal at best. Dials is going to Central? Central plays basically the same schedule as LC. How would Dials get more exposure at Central? These kids growed up playing youth football in LC. They grew up wanting to be a bulldog. They watched every friday waiting for their time to shine. Their time is now, and they are going to transfer? LC had some struggles that Goldsmith come to fix and these guys do not have any patience. I feel like these guys are turning their back on the LC program. Goldsmith has put so much time and effort into these guys. I guess this shows how much the kids in LC have changed over the past 15 years.

Another great recruit for the Wildcats. This should move the cats into the top 20 nationally with this recruiting class. Congrats to Josh Minton. I cant wait to see him play at the next level.

I was at the game last Sunday. The Bengals host St X at the end of the first quarter. It was nice to see the high school kids get some love in Paul Brown.
