It all depends on what kind of job you're looking for really. The skills kids get by reading, analyzing, interpreting, and writing about history are certainly useful in prepping for the ACT, which, in this part of the country serves as the measuring stick for college enrollment. I still think, in a lot of cases, there should be some prep schools for manufacturing/tech jobs, and prep schools for higher education.

How are you going to hit in one if you can't bunt in two? Get it down. Outs aren't near as precious in HS as they are in MLB. Lots of teams in HS flat out can't field. That's why I have zero problem with bunting in HS.

It's hilarious to see UK fans trying to credit their coach for anything Pitino does. Pitino's a better coach than Cal, IMO. It was true when Cal was at UMass, and it's true today. Calipari is the best recruiter in the country, without a doubt.

Strictly a matter of opinion. Some people get past petty things. I'm a UL fan, and pulled for UK in the title game last year. I'll always vote for in state schools, unless they play UL.

Even when you get it down to four teams, it's much, much harder to win, even if you're the best team. I think the best example of this is MLB. Look how dominant old teams were with their runs. Then, even with divisional play beginning in the 1969 season, it' almost impossible to have a run with a dynasty. Look at how great the Braves were all those years, and only one title. Now with even more expanded playoffs, it won't happen again.

No, not really. There's been no conference domination in the NCAA tourney for quite some time. A 64 or 68 team tourney, will do that. This isn't football, where it's a battle of 1 vs. 2 every year in a one game title game, with super conference winners nearly guaranteed a spot every year.

I can tell you this. Just by simple math, outgoing and incoming, Conner will grow by over 100 next year. And that is without any move ins.

I'm probably headed back to Directv. I left to save some money. Came over to insight. A couple months later, I finally get great cell phone coverage at my house, so I call to cancel my home phone. Insight tells me by cancelling my home phone, they are going to RAISE my bill $30 a month to keep my cable and internet. Directv has been offering me the moon to come back to them. So by Insight's brilliant pricing, they're going to lose not one, but two of my services as soon as school is out, and I've got some time to hang around the house for an install. I don't think I'd do Dish. To me, they seem like Directv-lite, and they aren't much cheaper.

I teach AP US History. I don't know why anyone would sit through an entire AP class, and then not take the exam. Heck, some, like mine are worth 6 college hours if you pass the exam.

Frank, I agree with you wholeheartedly. KHSAA makes darn sure girls have equal access to equal facilities all season long. I've experienced/witnessed lots of this. But it doesn't apply to Sweet 16's, and I think that's garbage.
